I first got Zingotel service earlier in the year and received their equipment and set everything up. At first the service worked somewhat fine. People could call in and I could call out. The service itself was really laggy though. You could hear it all repeating every time you talked and you and the caller would talk over each other constantly simply due to lag.

I decided that this service was not for me and decided to call our local landline carrier (AT&T) and port our number back. That was in March 06 - less than 30 days after getting this service. At&t tried to port our number back to them for a total of 9 months and each time they would get the same answer from Zingotel. They got the reply that our number was not valid and not with their company. I tried emailing them and calling them and they kept insisting that they weren't doing anything wrong and AT&T had not contacted them. I kept asking where they needed to fax their information to release my line and never received an answer.

Their service eventually stopped working almost all together. I could make calls but no one could call in. I couldn't fax anything either because of "bad connection lines". I delt with this for almost two months and no one would fix it. They had me reboot it a dozen times...they said it should work fine. They told me over the phone that everything is testing fine its working. I had them try to call me back to confirm that and of course they couldn't get through...but they didn't do anything about it even then. They just ignored me every time I complained.

Like I said this has gone on for totaling 9 months to try and get my number back, to which I eventually had to give up and just cancel the service and get a new number from AT&T just yesterday. I emailed them to cancel their service and they charged me $39.99 for canceling within a year! If they would have let me I would have canceled in the first 30 days - but they held my number hostage for 9 months instead! Their service didn't work and they wouldn't/couldn't fix it but yet they are charging me for breaking contract.
