Like many others reproting here, the Advanced Moving System has all my worldly possessions and is demanding twice the estimate they originally gave me.

Fortunately, I haven't given them any money yet. They were a day late picking up my stuff and abusive in the extreme, on the phone. They even threatened not to deliver my goods if I filed a claim against them at the BBB (which I have done).

I have filed claims against them everywhere I can. I am surprised they are in business, given this pattern and given all the legal actions taken against them. I found out that Zion Rokah (whom I believe gave me a false name on the phone) is in trouble from federal and state authorities all over the place, and some of his employees have been charged with assault and robbery in Wisconsin.

I don't need to give my whole story here, as it is roughly the same as the many ones already posted. If anyone knows what to do, or has successfully managed to get delivery, I'd love to know how you did it or any other advice anyone has. I just need my books and notes for my dissertation! They also have my wedding dress, for my wedding in June.

Thanks for your response. I am at wit's end, having done everything I can think of in terms of reporting to consumer places, government authorities etc. I have even prepared a check to pay their demands but they refuse to deliver w/out money up front. I don't trust them. Please post your advice below so everyone will know what to do. I'll be eternally grateful!
