I have been a member of ZipCar since earlier this year and loved the option of rentals and in the beginning the customer service was great. In June I got bad information from a rep and I had to call and go through issues and even add extra money on my account due to the fact that there was an issue with the rental, I brought the car back and wanted to trade it for another one.

They told me that was fine, then when I called back they said they couldn't do the credit and fix the rental, then I spoke to a supervisor and got the run a round, they finally assisted but I had to put another $25-$50 on the account, it's an annoying. we did not get done that process until 10:30pm- 11:00pm.

They just fixed it recently, I payed the fee due and they cancelled my account. I have no idea why. I put a new card on there and was ready to start over, I even have a credit on the account. I am just very hurt they did this to me and put me through all of this. I was really looking forward to the account and renting with ZipCar again.

I tried to call and speak to the manager of the Baltimore branch and just got a lot of excuses, I called the home office in MA and they said they couldn't do anything either. I don't understand how such a big company has no one to contact to file an appeal or dispute. I am still reseaching that though.

Overall I am very frustrated with the customer service in the Baltimore office and feel as though I was wronged in so many ways by this company after I referred them. I have now told my friends and family to cancel their accounts or not even sign up.

I read your response and they are well aware of my issues and complaints with how they handled business with me.l There was more than one issue. So please do not tell me how I should feel or how this situation should or should not affect me seeing as it has nothing to do with you. Just the fact that I had fallen on hard times should be enough. I do not deserve the disrespect or disregaurd for what I had gone through. No one said they were a court of law, they should know how to handle business and respect their loyal customers though! Justa thought. Have a great day.

Appeals? Do you think they are a Court of Law.

They are a private business and as long as they are not discriminating against you because you are a protected class(which you have given zero indication of) they can say who and who they don't want to be a customer of theirs.  You have no "right" to do business with any private company.

There does however seem to be a bit of an information gap.  You go from having some dispute that in your title says was never resolved, but in your report said it was.  In your title you talk about cancelling your acccount due to "hardship" but never mention anything about it in the actual report.  Unless when you said you paid the fee due you were talking about a back balance.

So if your history with them wasn't the best, then yes..they may see you as a credit risk and no longer want to take a chance on you.  Especially since you never really talked about what the "issue" you had with the car was.  That is was it an issue you caused or was already with the car.  That too would go a long way to explaining why you are in the situation you are in.

But regardless none of that makes them a RipOff for not allowing you to be a customer and if your friends/family want to "suffer" by not having this service to show some support for you more power to them, but the company probably won't even notice.
