In October of 2020 I purchased four Zmodo Wi-Fi cameras from Amazon for $50 each.  After receiving them I discovered that I had to pay Zmodo $74.80 more for cloud space for the camera’s recordings.  I agreed to do that and paid them via PayPal.  I soon discovered that the cameras were of poor quality and would not work for the home security system that I was making with them.  I boxed them up and moved them to storage in my garage and wrote off the loss of $200 plus as a mistake on my side.  I replaced them with Reolink brand Wi-Fi cameras that I continue to use today.

Fast forward to October of 2021 and I get a $74.80 charge on my PayPal account for the renewal of the cloud storage.  I immediately called them and told them that I no longer used the cameras, so I am not using the storage space, and requested that the amount be refunded.  I was told by Zmodo that the charge was not refundable, so I had to pay for storage until 2022.  I said that this was unacceptable, and I was not paying this charge.  I have several other products on autopay and they always email me in advance to tell me that the charge was coming, Zmodo did not do this.

I was willing to take the loss for my making a poor purchase choice, but it pisses me off to be forced to pay this.  I would like a refund and warn others of this rude policy.
