Complaint Review: Zoom Tan

Zoom Tan Lied to and then asked to pay more money! Rochester New York

I have been a long time customer of Sun Tan City/Golden Tans and have always been extremely happy with their service. Two months ago, ZoomTan took over, so I decided to give this company a try. When I purchased my membership last month I was working with an associate who truly didn’t know the answer to most of the questions that I asked. She was unsure when my monthly payment would come out of my account, etc. She was very sure though that by purchasing the tanning package that I did, it would give me access to ANY tanning bed within the salon.

Fast forward to this month, when I walked into the salon I asked to tan for the full time in “room 1” which is a 12-minute lay down bed in the salon. I was informed that my package didn’t include that bed. I told the salon worker that I was extremely confused at hearing this, because I when I purchased my package I was told I could use any bed in the place. The worker told me that I must have worked with _____________ and that she must have not known what she was selling me.  At this point I’m now hearing that I was lied to about what my package included, and wasn’t at all apologized to for this, and the worker didn’t seem to really mind that I was shocked/looking extremely dis-satisfied.

I emailed the customer service email, received no answer, so I called and shared what happeened with the custoemr service associate. She let me know that she would call me back the next day after speaking to a manager about my issue. Well, I never recieved a call back, so two days later, I called back again. I was basically told that since ZoomTan will be keeping all the SunTanCity beds for a while, they changed their pricing structure to reflect this recently, so in order to use the beds that I was told I could use, I would NEED TO PAY MORE MONEY, and that they wouldn't do anything to make the situation right even though they changed their policies without informing the customers after I had already paid for the tanning.

On top of this occurring, there is ALWAYS a wait when entering the salon. It could be absolutely dead, but somehow the associates never have a bed clean, so I have had to consistently for them to clean the bed. I would NOT recommend this location at all, and after my package expires I will no longer be doing business with this company, as they seem to not be concerned about retaining me as a customer.
