Anyone can read what was posted in 'Consumer Comment #3', entitled- "Blame it on a Lawyer" at this Ripoff Report. That consumer comment was posted on August 21, 2007. The Dow Jones was over 13,000 points that day and hadn't yet reached its all-time high close of 14,164 points, which occurred on October 9, 2007.

Thirteen months after 'Consumer Comment #3' was posted, the banking system in the USA collapsed (melted down) and the Dow Jones lost a record 777 points in one full day of trading. On September 29, 2008, the Dow Jones lost 777 points.

Some of the same information that appears in 'Consumer Comment #3', starting at paragraph #4, was faxed to Toyota's corporate headquarters in Torrance, California, in the spring of 2005. On April 20, 2005, that fax was successfully sent to Toyota's corporate headquarters. It was later subpoenaed in 2006. Copies of the subpoenaed fax were mailed to the mainstream media in New York in 2007.

If you admit guilt with him, be prepared to admit the same with potentially THOUSANDS more! At this point, the company began to listen to their LAWYER who will do all he or she can for their client. Dear 2001 Tacoma, You must send your info to 9News ASAP! You can get their address from other Posts under yours. Make sure to get your info to ALL the others too! Dateline NBC, Fox 31 News, 60 Minutes, etc.. Also 'Google' the two words- ENGINE SLUDGE and read the complaints. I believe there was one similar to yours. You MUST TAKE ACTION for yourself. No one else will do it for you! And don't stop!! This proves that Toyota is not the Great Product that we have been lead to believe. Toyota simply has a Great Advertising Agency that is able to manipulate people into believing that their product is great! A gas cap shouldn't hurt an engine in that way unless there were OTHER PROBLEMS, like a SLUDGE PROBLEM! Remember, EXPOSURE to the problem is the best thing for your situation right now! You have EVIDENCE, use it!! The News Stations LOVE HARD EVIDENCE!!! Trust me! Go to 9news and type in ORNELAS and search the story from 2005 that made the Front Page of the Denver Post on 5-19-2005 and watch the Video that aired on 5-18-2005 at 10 o'clock on the #1 MOST WATCHED NEWS STATION IN COLORADO! ( 9News!) The 'hook' has been securely set against Toyota. As consumers, we must keep reeling in this BIG FISH and bring it aboard. Soon, a big fish fry for all!( and we won't fry it in ENGINE SLUDGE!) Write a letter, you'll feel better!'

When I was young I used to "improve" my cars. I even reworked the engine and suspension of a Mazda RX4 wagon, but at least I followed the suggestions of a successful rotary engine racing team in CA. But my father's words still ring true: When you buy a car, run it the way the manufacturer built it and you will have a lot less trouble. If you don't like how the car runs, don't buy it. Adding miracle products to your gas tank is one good way to get into a lot of trouble. And these miracle gas-saving products always seem to proliferate when gas prices are high. Most miracle gas-saving products have also been found worthless. Could Fuel Freedom International MPG-CAPS actually one save money? OP never told us how much money he saved with reduced gasoline consumption, but it would appear that he will have to pay dearly for his own engine rebuild because Fuel Freedom International just doesn't seem to give a crap about what their product does to the customer's car, nor why. This would seem to be a warning to others. I would be careful that if the pistons are removed they are also reinstalled exactly as they were removed or else a new wear-in will occur which may compromise performance. OP should discuss whether a cylinder hone plus new rings are advisable with his mechanic. The extra cost is trivial. I expect Karl to come along and tell us how Toyota is the only company to blame here, and that Toyota has actually victimized OP and Fuel Freedom International. This would be entertaining.
