Complaint Review: Lakeside Village Apartments - Clinton Township Michigan

I have had a very difficult time getting any repairs done every since I got a service dog in a non dog building. Even though it is a law that a service animal can't be denied, I am being retaliated against by Justin Dunckel and Megan Gutierrez.

I had black mold on my bathroom wall & the management wanted to leave it there so I had to call the city building inspector. He made them remove it replace the drywall, my bathroom had to be sealed off for a couple of days to prevent my dog and I from breathing in toxic air. Black mold is very dangerous to dogs but Justin & Megan expected me to live with it. This is a form of animal abuse & they should be ashamed of themselves.

I now consider Justin Dunckel and Megan Gutierrez animal abusers for trying to force my dog to live with toxic mold in the air that could have been very bad for her. I few years ago my toilet was broke but the sadistic management told the maintenance to not replace it so they had to come in and plunge the toilet all the time.

I also had another big leak in my ceiling this year and they brought in a big industrial blower to dry the ceiling and ran my electric bill up but they will only give me a credit if I agree to sign some form agreeing to not post reviews online. Now they are trying to violate my Freedom of Speech.

The former VP Sharrise Myren tried to EXTROT me. I was supposed to have my 10 year old carpet replaced since I have rented here since 2011 but the installers only showed up with vinyl flooring for the dining room and said that I couldn't get carpet.  I talked to management and they said I could only get  either vinyl or carpet but they never told me that or confirmed that with me when I requested it. I told them I want the 10 year old carpet replaced. The installer took up my dining room carpet but then the management told them to leave with my floor all wrecked. The VP Sharisse Myren then sent me an email to tell me I would have to pay more in rent money or I could move out by the end of the month which is only 16 days away.

This is EXTORTION. It's illegal and a felony.

My dinning room floor was paint stained floor, concrete floor for days because the incompetent management told the installers to leave in the middle of the job so they could extort and harass me. They have been harassing me for a long time and let me go with a bad toilet for months because they wanted to get back at me for filing a complaint for violating my service dog rights. The maintenance had to come so many times to plunge my toilet so they could play their sadistc and vengeful game.

They tried to extort me and left my floor all wrecked.

Michael,

If you will agree to modify your renewal to pay market rent for the apartment $870 plus water and fees, then I will authorize the site to replace both the carpet and the vinyl in your home.

If that is not agreeable, then it appears we are not going to make you happy in your home.  Would you like to discuss ending your lease instead?  Your current lease expires on 10/31/2020.  I am happy to cancel your renewal and allow you to move by 10/31 without penalty.

At this point, all communication regarding your lease and choices related to carpet/vinyl need to come through me.  Your choices are:

Renew at market rate and receive both carpet/vinyl

Renew at the rate you have already done, and receive carpet

Cancel the renewal and move by October 31.

I was suppose to get new carpet anyways after renting here for so many years but it was a scam. I still haven't recieved my fixture upgrades either that I could have got 4 years ago.
