DO NOT JOIN! My husband and I have been members for 5 years and paid up front. We checked numerous times for renewal dates and were told that we would be contacted when the time came. When we moved 2 1/2 years ago, we updated all of our information (address/phone)as well as purchased a personal training package (which we only used a few of).

When I called the Corporate location this month (February 04),again to find out about renewing our membership, I was told that our membership expired. "Christine" in customer service sited several phone calls, which we never received (nor did we receive messages)and an old address that we updated several years prior. When we talked to "Christine's" manager "Laura", she did come up with our correct address and stated that several notices were sent. This is also untrue! When I asked for proof, she stated that she could not provide proof, "and anyway, it is a curtesy...we don't have to remind you...it's your responsibility" Even though I did talk to my local gym several times. NOT ONLY CAN WE NOT RENEW, THEY WILL NOT REFUND OUR MONEY FOR PERSONAL TRAINING NOT USED! WHAT A RIPOFF!

This is reparable, if you're willing

If it has been 2 years since you've paid you're renewals, well then you're somewhat behind. If it is a low renewal you can pay what you've missed and begin where you left off. All is not lost. OR you can invest in a new membership, although I empathize with you on how poorly you've been treated. The corporate office is full of dingbats and clearly don't state all the options. I'm sorry that this has happened to you, but it is definately possible to reactivate the training also, if you're willing. Unfortunately they were right about one thing, its been way to long for any refunds. Sincerely sorry, hope all works out. But please, whatever you do, don't stop working out. Sacrificing your health out of spite is never worth it.
