Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
This company is full of total BS! I went to the first interview, which was really quick and hardly any questions were asked about my experience. At the interview I was told that they were interviewing a lot of people that day, and they were deciding that evening who would be coming back for a second interview. That evening I was called and told that they interviewed about 20 people that day and only 5 were chosen for a second interview. Obviously at the time I was totally excited, but looking back I know that was a LIE. Now I'm pretty confident that they called most people back.

For my second interview, I was told that I needed to clear a full day (9-5:30 they told me) so I could ride along with someone who works there. After my first interview I still wasn't sure exactly what the company did, so I wasn't sure what my day was going to consist of. I was paired with someone named Darcy who was supposedly going to evaluate me at the end of our day. We went to some random outside shopping center.

I still had no idea what we were going to do all day. She told me we were doing a direct marketing campaign for Victoria Jackson makeup, so we were going to try to sell this supposedly expensive makeup for very cheap to people in the area in order to promote Victoria Jackson.

Basically, in other words, we walked from store to store and solicited anyone we saw...customers, employees, random people in the parking lot...it was insane. When I tell you we were walking up the highway from store to store, walking into any door of any building. I AM NOT EXAGGERATING!! The whole time, I had to basically run to keep up with Darcy and she was questioning me the whole time. At this time, I still thought this was a legitimate job.

During the day, Darcy explained to me that 3w had a 4 step training program that took about a year and ended in you opening your own branch. This all sounded great, but I couldn't get a straight answer about what they actually did. Whenever I asked, the answer always included how you will learn to train and interview people to sell this stuff. I assumed that the company created different marketing plans for their client, so I asked Darcy how much creative freedom you have in creating these plans during your training. She seems to not understand the question, as her answer included "ummm well we have freedom to decorate our own office anyway we want." I should have known right then to leave, but I didn't. I went back to the office (an hour later than they told me on the phone), took this stupid test, and was offered the job on the spot.

The way they really get you is by completely flattering you. They make it seem like it is so competitive to get these jobs and their are so few of them...LIE. I feel pretty confident that almost everyone is offered the job. Basically if you work here, you are a professional solicitor working to teach others how to solicit...pathetic. I have to admit though, they are very good at luring you in. thank god I came to my senses!

AOR SCAM

I know exactly what you went through. I thought I had an interview tomorrow morning but I did some research on AOR Distribution...and they are a scam! This is the same company that you have experienced. They have opened locations in Alabama. I have already been on a interview with them a few months ago and thought I was applying for a different position but it's the same people...I know this thank you to you posting this about this company. I just want everyone to know that it's a scam and a waste of your time. Do not go on an interview with these people. They have a few different names in Mobile. Their office is located in Theodore and there are a lot of direct tv signs. They talk about Direct TV and the other location is on Azalea Road behind a night club. The name of the one in Theodore is named ACG MARKETING. If you apply for a job online and get a call the next day from AOR Distribution or ACG Marketing IT'S a SCAM!!!!!

I have my bachelor's from a big 10 school in a tough major. when these tool bags were interested in me, i scheduled three interviews in the area so as not to waste my time. little did i know .. everything everyone said is correct. first interview is like 5 minutes long in a small waiting room with trailer trash and inner city scum. why i wore manolo's to my interview, i'll never figure out. second interview, well we went to the bar. so how is that an interview? it was supposed to be a day in the field with three tool bags, one didn't even finish high school! at this point, i could tell that a degree was not required and i was no longer interested. 100% commission, and you get NO benefits at all. complete scam. stay so far away.

Similar Concerns with ID Promotions

#4Consumer Comment

I just saw your report on the Peoria, Illinois place recently. I have already phoned a business that calls themselves ID Promotions after seeing their ad on careerbuilder and several other help wanted websites. Not knowing it might be phony I set up an interview, but I haven't gone there yet. Now that I've seen your post about this place I am unsure what to do. I've heard no mention of Pandora House Marketing,JS Marketing,Executive Marketing Concepts, but I've only talked them once on the phone and I dumbly gave them my name. On all the help wanted websites they refer to themselves as ID Promotions or ID Promotionz. Looking back I don't recall if the girl that answered the phone even said the name of the business before she said hello. I'm not sure if she just said Promotions. My biggest concern was that when I tried searching ID Promotions on the internet there was no evidence of an actual company. Only hits on several help wanted websites that all said the same thing. They wanted help. Most "scams" or misleading postings are caused by a lack of information. However, if ID Promotions in Peoria is truly a scam why are they so forward as to say they do not do telemarketing or door to door sales if in actuality they do. Judging by what the last poster said, this posting is a bold faced lie. On some sites they've modified their description to say there are no residential door to door sales so I wonder if that's how they get away with it because they hound consumers at area businesses. If the place called ID Promotions is a phony, somehow I have to call them back and cancel the appointment because they have my name and phone #. Any additional information people or even though original poster of the "Watch out for...." reply can give me about ID Promotions would be greatly appreciated.

I recently moved to Peoria, Illinois, so I was out looking for jobs. I was actually putting my resume in at another place and I started reading a newspaper while I was there and found an ad. The ad stated that they were now hiring for warehouse and clerical work paying between $400-$500 weekly and it was Monday-Friday 8am-4:30pm. So I was like wow I'll check it out! It said to contact Liz at this number. So I called the number and the secretary told me to stop in between 4pm and 6pm and they would have me fill out an application and then I would have an interview when I was done filling it out. I was like wow that seems great! So I filled out the application, which was fairly short, and there were several others in the room doing the same. A few minutes later they called me in there for my interview. (By the way the building was small and looked pretty ghetto. There were only two offices and they were small. The carpet was gross. The secretary was taking several credit card numbers over the phone. There was loud rap music playing. It seemed unprofessoinal.) The lady I interviewed with was Elsa. She was very friendly and happy. She asked me a few short questions. Nothing really major though. I asked about the warehouse position and she quickly changed the subject and told me that if she hired me she would prefer to have me in this managment program. So I thought that sounded great! She said I would get all the training I would need. The job didn't call for experience. She proceeded to tell me that when they got done interviewing other people that night that they would be calling me between 5 and 6pm. So I was excited that it was all happening so fast. Of course they called. It was the secretary. She told me she was honored to inform me that I got the second round interview and to come back in the next morning from 9:30am-6pm and to dress professional. So I came back and I went out with this girl around the same age as me. She started walking out to her car and I was wondering what we were doing. We got in the car and started driving forever. We drove an hour away to sit outside of a gas station and set up a table and tried to sell Victoria Jackson makeup, operation smile tshirts and coupon books. Supposedly 5% of everything sold went to this operation smile charity. I basically felt like we were out begging people to buy things and I didn't like relying on commission to make a paycheck. You only get 40% of what was sold. It was a long day and rather boring. That was on a Friday. So I came back that night after we had been out in the 'field' all day and talked to Elsa again for my third round interview. She asked me if I was able to start Monday and I said yes. All weekend I felt awkward and uncomfortable about this job. But I figured what the hell I'll go and try it and see how it goes. But when you actually work it is from 8am-6 or 7pm Monday through Friday. And they try talking you into Saturdays. The part from 8-9:30am is your so called training/meetings. They like to get you "JUICED" up for the day. They listen to really loud rap music in the back room and scream different sayings..like Hey! Guess What?! And lets get JUICED up!! I thought it was rather ridiculous plus when you are trying to train it is hard to listen and concentrate over that loud music. You had to scream. Then from 9:30-6 or 7pm you were in the 'field'. You went to different locations daily. Sometimes, all too often for me, it seemed we were going an hour away. I don't like that idea with gas being so high! So Monday I started working for them. I went out on Monday and Tuesday with a girl. I hated it. I thought it was so boring and lame to be begging innocent people all day when they were just trying to stop for gas or get a drink. Tuesday I was fed up. I thought it was really dumb. So I had my fiance come pick me up and I told the girl I was just going out to lunch. Well I had planned on just leaving and not going back. That's what I did. I then came home and researched their company. I found these ripoff reports and I made sure to text the girl and I told her about everything I had found and how misleading their company was and that I would not be back. Basically in the interview I was told the marketing firm was called Pandora Marketing House, Inc. So when I researched it online I found nothing but good things on how they help raise money for non profit organizations such as Disney, Warner Bros, Nascar, Operation Smile, Toys for Tots, and the list goes on and on. However then I noticed the sign outside of their building said Executive Marketing Concepts and I rememebered them mentioning how it used to be called JS Marketing. So I researched both of those names and found all kinds of bad things about them. Also, their company employer is called ID Promotionz. I also looked them up and found out it was a scam. They give you a name in the interview so when you research it it's all good. But when you find out what they are really called you realize what a joke it is. Basically they hire anyone who doesn't ask them a lot of questions. It's not worth it to be gone from home all day and be so tired at night. The whole thing was totally misleading and fake. I feel sorry for them that they must stoop so low in life. Remeber this is in Peoria, Illinois so if any of you are in the area or hear about the job DO NOT DO IT!!! And if you do decide to go, go knowing this info and show them how much you know about all of this! They try telling you how this company is growing so fast and is hiring a lot of people to go through this management program. They make it sound too good to be true, so of course it is! I hope they go down!!!

Happy You got out

Muffmuff, I'm happy you got out as well. I "trained" with Darcy for about a week and let me tell you now that I look back I realize how shitty they answered legit questions about their line of work and they kept saying "even my parents don't know what I do they just know I'm happy and make a lot of money". Good for you for catching it quicker than I did and I'm glad you filed a report as well because when they make you solicit, not only were half the places we went illegal to solicit at but it is soo dangerous. Good luck in your future endeavors!!
