Ok...First let me say that the price for the job was fair and the work done sounds like it was done correctly as it did not fail for not only 30k but over a year. Did you ever change the fluid and filter in that time period? Was the transmission being cooled properly? How is the engine running? How is the condition of your battery? What failed inside the transmission? Was it due to parts failure, workmanship or abuse? I am also quite sure you were offered a longer warranty at an additional price of which you probably declined with the assumption that either you wouldn't have the car that long or the job would last longer. Either way it was your choice to decline the longer warranty. I would not be happy in this situation either having to pay again for a job but I can see nothing done wrong here at this shop.

As a 20+ year rebuilder,Your average transmission lasts 60 to 100K+ miles,If it was a PROPER repair without abuse on the customers part, why could it not last the same amount of miles? I have overhauled these transmissions and they have outlived the car itself.

If you would have bought a new Chrysler product you would be out of luck. The new car warranty is only 36K miles, yours lasted 37K miles. Maybe it is just a bad design, blame Chrysler

I would expect that answer from an AAMCO represenative. Of course AAMCO would love to make 1-2 grand every 30,000 miles on the same transmissions. That is what would maks them money. I never approacked him badly either. I was calm and cool untill the ripoff was evident. I also remember going back to the shortly after the original work was performed about a ticking and clicking sound it used to make when it would shift and i was told it was some solenoid that was common to make that noise. I would not be suprised if that was a sign they blew off. I just hope you stand behind the quality of your work for the sake of AAMCO. Take care.

If your vehicle drove for 30000 miles without a problem the Aamco couldn't have erred in the original repair. Ask anyone knowledgeable in the industry.I've been an Aamco dealer for 33 yrs. Sounds like he's offering you a fair deal, if you were nicer to him instead of the approach you've used maybe he would be even nicer. Its a fair deal. Tom Schroeder
