AARP contracted call center responds to TV ads.

First question ask is "are you an AARP member ". when I answered no I am not , I was told that I had to be if I wanted them to sent the free info pack on their Medicare complete plans.

I than advised the operator that her request was violating my rights under CMS guidelines and ask her if she insisted on me having to be a member, her response was very unclear and she than was evasive.

I repeated my call several times ,this to be sure, each time I was asked for my Membership.

I have been waiting 6 weeks for the materials!

Meanwhile I called the CMS complaint line, was advised by the responding CMS operator that I should call the CA State Insurance Board, that this is not an CMS matter.I informed her that Senior Advantage programs are enforced by CMS and Medicare ,not the State of California and the person hung up.

It is no wonder that companies like AARP are enriching themselves by violating the very laws that are supposed to protect their Senior members.
