I purchased a Acer Desktop computer from Circuit City on December 29, 2007. Since the time that I purchased the machine, I have had numeorus problems.

The operating system is completely unstable. It crashes continuously. The internet connection is faulty such that I am no longet able to connect to the internet.

I have called technical support and they refuse to repair the product unless I pay to ship it to Texas. They will not repair it and return it for at leat 7-10 business days. They will not replace the defective product. They refuse to send me parts so that I can have it repaired locally.

Acer Repairs

I bought a Acer laptop computer on 09/08/07 from Circuit City. I started having a problem with it in April of this year. I shut it down one night and the next morning it wouldn't come on at all. When I powered the computer on I could hear it start up but there wasn't any display or sound on it. I called customer service and we tried several things over the phone like pressing different buttons and hooking it up to a external monitor, but nothing worked. So he said I would need to send it to Temple, Texas. So it cost me $20.00 to send it by UPS. I wasn't happy about having to pay the shipping cost, but I knew about their warranty before I bought their computer. It took 3 days to ship it from NC to TX. I got a e-mail when they received it and when they shipped it back to me. They had to replace the motherboard and the fan assembly on it. They received the computer, repaired it and sent it back the next day. I had it back in a week. I would be the first to complain about a company that I thought took advantage of me. I was really surprised at how quick I got my computer back, and it works fine now. I have a hearing loss, but the guy I talked to in customer service was very patient and friendly when I had to ask him to repeat what he said. I know from experience that's not always the case. Some of them I've talked to from other companies can be quite hateful. Pam

Program Restore does not work not a software issue

Acer has acknowledged and agreed that the network adaptor card is defective. However they contend that they can not ship out a new network card. They advise that in order to have the network card replaced, the computer must be shipped to them.

I already tried the system restore

I had already done the system restore, that did not solve the problem. The computer does not recognize the network adaptor, which is why there is no connectivity. Acer has acknowledged and admitted that it is a hardware probelm and the network card is faulty. However, they will not send a new network card and will not repair unless I ship it to them.

You said "The operating system is completely unstable. It crashes continuously. The internet connection is faulty such that I am no longet able to connect to the internet. " That is a software problem, not hardware. Reinstall the system or try system restore. Both are free.
