Aegis Property Services was hired to rebuild an outdoor kitchen at our home in Florida.  Armando represented he and his company as being capable of performing this work.  He is charming and talks as though he knows what he's doing.  Since we live out of state and were receiving regular updates from Armando, we had a false sense of trust in him and his company.  As such, we paid him the complete amount of the project when he reported he was 95% complete.

When we arrived in Florida in November to check on our home and the outdoor kithcen he claimed was complete, we quickly realized we had been swindled.  The project was no where near done, in fact it was barely started.  He claimed that he had completed it but was unhappy with the results, so he had torn it out.  It was very evident this was not the case, especially when he was unable to provide much of the equipment we had paid him for (e.g. sink, garbage disposal, refrigerators, etc.).  In addition, we learned that Armando was cutting and fabricating our granite countertops and bar area himself on site.  He was gluing together pieces, which resulted in multiple seams throughout the countertops.  It was obvious he didn't have a clue as to what he was doing.  In addition, he was building cabinets and drawers on site, which again were of poor quality and not level or squared.

This guy is a liar, a cheat, dishonest, incompetent, and just about everything "negative" he claims he is not.  Luckily, after interviewing a number of competent, licensed contractors to complete the job, we are now well on our way to getting the beautiful kitchen we had been promised.  Unfortunately, nearly all the work performed by Armando had to be torn out and scrapped due to poor quality and workmanship.  In the end, we'll end up paying twice for our dream kitchen (once to Armando the swindler, and once to the competent contractor who has agreed to complete the project), but at least we know we're now getting a quality job.
