I just left American Freight in tears with no furniture. I did not use layaway. I paid in full for my furniture (love seat and sofa) on 4-21-09 with a VISA Debit card which cleared with no problems. It was to be delivered on 5-21-09. Per their policy (which was confirmed by the "manager") it was rescheduled to be delivered on June 15, 2009. I got rid of my furniture to make room for the new. I called them Tuesday June 16 and was told it was signed off on 5-21-09. "You don't have your furniture?" Well no, that's why I'm calling. I was told it would be delivered Wednesday. Today is Thursday. I went in to the store. Got a run around. They do not have the furniture in stock. They offered me other furniture at $100 more, or said they would "work with me". They had nothing else I wanted. I asked for my money back. He told me they would have it in stock in 10 days. My living room is empty. The "manager" told me he listens to people yell at him all day long. Well, wouldn't you consider this to be a problem? He then told me I would have to wait 4 weeks from the date of reschedule to get a refund, and somehow he figured that was 15 days from now. Well, my calendar says today is exactly 4 weeks. Nothing was resolved. I left and told them I will be back tomorrow. I also let him know I will be filing a report with the BBB and he became visibly upset. I will not shop there again, will tell all of my friends, coworkers, family and anyone I meet at the grocery store...I will post it on any website I can. BEWARE!!! If this report was posted by an actual customer, I'd be surprised. Sure, any company can drop the ball and make an occasional mistake... but the customer service reps at American Freight Furniture would have helped this customer before things got to this point. The original post (notice it was from 2005!!) was most likely posted by a competing furniture dealer. It's sad when things like that happen, but it is a reality of the age in which we live. I said it once, and I'll repeat it over and over.... I have been employed by American Freight for over 12 years, I have seen thousands of very happy customers. This is a super company to work for. I have always seen customers treated with a tremendous amount of respect. American Freight dosn't tolerate poor attitude or performance, if any employee was to treat a customer as your report claims, they would be fired on the spot. They get very busy, mostly because the prices are so low and every one wants to buy the furniture. They run out of many items because the demand is so high. If you have ever been in to an American Freight you know what I mean. Thank you for your time.

American Freight is like any other furniture company, there are times when an item is out of stock, and may take 4-6 weeks to get back in stock. American Freight does not like dissatified customers, they strive to satisfy their customer base. Word of mouth is the best advertisement there is, so this accusation of ripping off customers, is untrue. Don't believe everything you read...I worked for American Freight.

Hello! I currently work for American Freight Furniture. I can't really help you out with getting new stuff cause I don't know what you got, and I'm very low on the totem pole. What I CAN tell you is that you are not the only one. This company promotes taking people for all they have. Not everyone at this company is like that, but most are. Our particular store is not like taht except on sundays, when either the district manager or someone from another store comes in to cover for our manager. I have seen much worse thing happen however, see in the fine print of the recipts, you'll see that ALL refunds after 5 days are subject to a 50%!! restocking fee! I have seen people with over 3,000 dollars in lawayas, cancel their orders and only get 1,500 back! The worst person with this is the Area Manager, he'll come in, lie to customers, sell things we don't have, sell things we wont be getting in stock, sell damaged things, all kinds of unethical nonsense. sadly enough there is nothing much any of us can do about it, because not only is he our boss, but HIS boss, the VP of National Sales, is the exact same way, if not worse.
