American Freight is a low class company that will take you hard earned money and in return give you, for lack of a better term, JUNK. As a former employee I know what this company does and has done in the past. Suddenly the furniture you order isn't in stock. Employees give you the run around, lie after lie. Sorry, can't give your money back. No refunds on layaways. What a joke. Cheap merchandise, they have it. It is truly sad that Mr. Belford continues to allow his company to operate in this manner. Don't give this company a chance to have your business.

I think this is exactly the right place for ex-employees to warn unwitting consumers to beware of a company. I saw a commercial on tv last night for American Freight, had never heard of it being new to the area and had thought about stopping by today to check it out. I'm in the process of furnishing an entire house and thought some cheap stuff would be fine mixed in when the better items. After reading these horror stories all basically saying the same thing, there is no way I will step foot in the store. The company sounds like the fly-by-night stores that crop up around military installations (we are retired military). At least in that case the military would eventually put those companies off-limits in order to protect young soldiers. Who is protecting the hard working young people, most who sound like they are just starting out, from these con-men? Shame on you American Freight.

To Steve It's too bad you are living in a fantasy world and can't join the rest of us in the real world-open your eyes and take a look at all of the complaints against this company-and no matter what state they come from they all seem to be basicaly stating the same complaint-the furniture is NEVER in stock, they will refuse to give you a refund-no matter how many times you call or how long you have waited on your furniture- I know because I am one of the many still waiting for furniture to come in. I am not sure how you or any of the employees sleep at night knowing how many people you have ripped off that day and how many more you will get tomorrow.This company is nothing but a RIPOFF.

A family member alerted me to the "discussion" going on here with former employees, and even though I have my own mixed feelings about American Freight, this is not the correct forum for disenfranchised ex-employees to vent their negative hostilities. This website is to assist CONSUMERS that have issues with a given company (and I personally question whether it is effective at doing that). I took many good experiences with me from American Freight and I focus on those rather than the negative. I would recommend that you guys do your best to put a positive spin on your situation and use this opportunity to move on. You will be much better off in the long run.

Here is an example of three ex employees working together to try and hurt a terrific company. While we strive every day to give better customer service, there is always room for improvement. American Freight is a much better company with out these three people working there. Why would some one with integrity call themselves KRACKPOT. Are you smoking krack? Are you smoking pot? The truth is one of these ex employees was probably the manager in Orlando North and they did a really terrible job! The manager was FIRED and the store is running much better now, the new manager knows how to order merchandise and knows how to treat customers and other employees with respect. The person from Tampa is probably the managers best freind who is also a disgruntled ex employee who was also very unreliable. Last and Least Matt from Lima is probably an employee who violated a non compete agreement with our company and I can not coment since AF has a complaint filed against this employee in court and the case is on going. The Tampa and Orlando disgruntled ex employees might want to be careful as well or they might wind up defending themselves in court.

Everything that Matt and Krakpot said is true. I have seen it myself. Once they have their grubby hands on a customer's wallet or bankcard its all over. They don't think twice about selling a piece of furniture many times over to get money from their customers. They will knowingly send out damaged pieces on delivery thinking that most customers will not notice, and if they do notice, they will go back and try to blame it on the customers. American Freight Management, from the top down are liars and thieves. If you are planning on buying new furniture with you tax refund don't walk, but RUN away from this company.

i also worked for this company, never received bonuses or moving expenses, customers always complaining, owners never even pay their vendors, customers never get their furniture, the company is a total joke. DO NOT GO THERE!Everything said from other guy bout changing names of the company is true also. Yes i am a disgruntled ex-employee. all of em should be. You can spot their lame ads by the $20 twin mattress. its a 3 inch piece of foam they make you walk thru the whole store to see then try to sell ya something else. company is a total joke.
