American Home Shield AHS Corrupt Service and Coverage Agreements! Carroll Iowa
Dallas, Texas. We have AHS through Wells Fargo $42/ month which is $504/year. It includes A/C. We only call them once a year. Service fee is now $60 dollars. We got them on the phone after a 20 minute wait on the phone since the policy on the internet did not include our A/C service that is included. We are told A-US Air is going to contact us to make an appointment. We wait 2 days, no contact is made. We call AHS and she says she will resubmit the work order to them. I say, it's 101 here in Dallas and I have 2 sons that can't sleep upstairs that are prone to asthma. "Oh, ok, well, you should be hearing from them or you can call them at ...." We call A-US Air 15 times because the phone makes a busy sound with no one picking up. We call back the next day to AHS and complain and this time I research and insist ona different vendor because I've read bad complaints on A-US Air. They give me AC Elite. They seem nice and say we're sorry we can't come today but we can come between 12-5 p.m. tomorrow. Ok they come at 3 p.m. and my husband is outside with the guy cleaning out the A/C with a hose. I say what's going on? The guy said he would have to charge $100 extra for maintenance to clean the A/C which had approx 10 leaves at the bottom of the inside the unit which you had to strain to see. The unit only needed Freon!!! But he had asked for $160 because that is how AHS does it he said. I called AHS on my cellphone while he was there. The rep said he didn't go by protocol. He was supposed to tell AHS that we needed to pay $100 for A/C cleaning that isn't covered and then they was supposed to inform us of that. I said to her, what's the difference it's still deceptive practicing to charge extra $100 when it really needed Freon. I told her that a lot of people was complaining about AHS and that I would cancel them and be on my own to spend my $504 plus $60 on a more trustworthy company and A/C repair service in which I didn't have to wait for 6 days in 101 degree weather like I am in a soup line for free. AHS and their vendors leaves much to desire.
