Complaint Review: Amiee McCarty Sima - Claire's Bowtique - Allegan Michigan

Add another person to the long list of people that Amiee Mc Carty Sima owner of Claire's Bowtique on Face Book has scammed.

In April, I began purchasing things from Amiee on Face Book. She was the 1st online Boutique that I had ever found. And I thought she had some amazing deals! I needed somethings for gifts and decided to jump on what I thought were some amazing deals. She was taking some pre-orders for some Petti Skirts, the Petti Skirts would be $60 and she required a $25 deposit. I paid her the $25 deposit on Easter Weekend of 2010. Soon after that she was doing a fundraiser for the family of a baby who was fighting for her life in a hospital. The fundraiser was for a giftcard in the amount $80 and she was selling them for $25. So I bought one. She asked me on several occasions to give her my order. I told her that I thought it was an amazing thing she was doing, giving the money to the family and giving away her products in addition to that. So I told her not to worry about my order on that! Then she did a raffle sell for a chance to win another $80 giftcard. The money from the raffle was to benifit the family of the sick baby too. So I bought $10 worth of those. Sadly that precious baby lost her battle. I also found out later that she was only planning on giving $10 of the $25 from the sale of the $80 giftcards to the family.

Soon after that she began advertising Bow Of The Month Memberships (BOTM) where you would recieve a bow from her every month in the mail. The Memberships were $30 each, but she was also running a sale on those too! So I bought 2 of them, 1 for my niece and 1 for a friend who had just had a baby. She then made a bow and advertised it for the "Club". We also had the option of choosing a bow from her pictures, and requesting the bows that way. So I made my choice, e-mailed them to her, and she responded that she recieved my orders!

During all of this, we would message back and forth, and chat, and text. She was always sweet as ever!

My last donation to her 2 week Frolic In The Surf And Sand, Florida Vacation was another one of her $80 giftcards for $30, she sold those on Etsy. So I purchased the giftcard, and placed my order very soon after that! I had told her no rush on several occasions, but no rush does not mean takes months either! So after a while I began asking where my order was, and her response to me was always, it is shipping out tommorow! And then she made the mistake of telling me that she had misplaced my order on several occasions, and needed me to re-send it.. Then I started thinking.. Oh No!!! I have fallen victim to her scamming, and all of these comments I see on her page from people asking where their stuff is must be true! I also realized that all of these people she was accusing of trying to ruin her business by saying bad things about her on her page by saying they had not recieved their products must be telling the truth!

So I sent her an e-mail to every e-mail address I had ever used to contact her asking for a refund. She immediately became very defensive about it. She asked me who had persuaded me to withdrawl my orders (which no one had), and she wanted to know why I was doing that to her, and that I had told her no rush. So I explained that I thought it would be best to remove my orders and that way she could concentrate on some of the other orders that she was seriously behind on and get some of the angry people off of her back. She assured me that she would get me my items right away once more. And we agreed that the BOTM Club money would go towards the Petti Skirt that I had already made the deposit on. So I waited and waited and still heard nothing back! Then on June 25th, I recieved a text from her stating that she was sending me a money order refund. So I thought, well that is good!

So I waited over a week for my money order to come in the mail, nothing came, so I sent her a text back. She replied, so sorry, I was waiting for my Pay Pal account problems to be worked out. So 2 days later I sent another text back asking where she would go next for my refund. She replied that she would send have her Mother send the refund from her account, and she would do that the next day. Ofcourse nothing came the next day. So I sent her another text and she said, "Oh I forgot, I am going to see my Mom tommorow and I will ask her to remind me to have her send it tommorow night when she gets off work." So the next night I waited until 8:30 PM CST and I sent her another text saying that I still had not gotten it. She responded with, "Oh I forgot, My Mom is gone to bed, so I will do it tommorow." So the next day, I sent her another text and I said, "Amiee, it is 7:30 PM and I still have no money. What is going on"? She had plenty more excuses.

By this point I was boiling! I just couldn't handle her lies anymore. So I told her I wanted an exact date when my money was going to be returned, and that I was really upset with the whole situation. Then the real Amiee Sima came out! She told me she would never be nice to me again, and that she would get my money to me when she could. When I repeated that I wanted a date, she called me bi-polar, crazy, and began speaking (texting) to me as if she were speaking to two different people. She proceeded to tell me that she was selling things again to get me a refund. She and her family of 5 were living on $20 a week for groceries, and that her husbands paycheck from his weekend job was buying the supplies for her new orders! We went back and forth, and I eventually told her she was a loser and a scammer. She blocked me from texting her, messaging her on Face Book, and shut her e-mail down. She does have a new personal fan page for her business, and I was told as recent as 8/19/2010 in a message from her on Face Book, that she was sending me a money order (while she was enjoying her fabulous 2 week Florida vacation). Of course I still have not seen anything, but I really didn't expect to either. I have told her that if I do recieve the refund for the money that I have paid her minus the money she gave the mother of the ill child) I will let everyone know that she did eventually keep her word and refund my money. Including the FBI, Paypal, and the police department.

My hopes in filing this report on this web site is that someone that reads this will stop that order that they have made with her, and get their money back from Paypal before it is too late. Yes there are some that do get there items, we all see that on her page. But there are many that do not recieve their items. Why chance being one of the ones that do not! My prayer is that the authorities will stop her in her tracks and prevent her from doing this to anymore people!
