We posted on Craigslist to have a fence installed on our property. He
represented himself as a family business partner for a company serving
the community for 45 years.
He was knowledgeable of the fencing industry and bid the job much lower
than others did. He seemed very professional, courteous, and a really
nice guy that knew his stuff.
He was quick to bid the job and quick to return for a 50% deposit
promising the job would begin in two days. When he failed to meet his
proposed deadline we decided to do a search on Milton.
A quick internet searched revealed that Milton has been scamming people since 2004. He even scammed a childhood friend.
Milton had no idea that we were already on to him when he showed up at our door to try and talk his way out of why he hadn't contacted us for four days and why the job hadn't started. When we told Milton we knew he was a scam and were calling the Police he ran to his truck and drove off in a hurry.
After posting a warning to the community on craigslist about Milton, I was contacted by another family that Milton scammed in May of 2011. There is a case pending on their behalf and a court date set for early this year. According to them, Milton has been in jail for this before as well as arrested for other crimes so beware.
We have compiled a great deal of information about Milton Gray Jr and turned it over to our local Sheriffs Department for investigation and prosecution. If you have been a victim of fraud because of Milton please contact your local Police department and post a report here so that others do not get scammed by this criminal.
