Antonio Luvara Anthony, Tony, Allan Gumtree Scam - Sold A Fake Diamond Ring Seaforth Nationwide
On 8 October 2012 Antino Luvara had advertised an Antique Diamond Ring and mentioned that it was from his family estate and it was a genuine 1.00ct Diamond set 18ct White Gold. He went by the name Allan at the time and provided me with his address in Seaforth where I went that day to purchase the ring. He invited me inside his house which I believe was his parent’s home and regrettably I paid him $500 cash for the ring.
Once I arrived home I looked over the ring with a loupe and saw that the ring was actually hallmarked 925 not 18K as described in his gumtree listing and he had tried to solder the hallmark to make it very hard to read with the naked eye. I had the ring checked by a jewellery who confirmed it to be cubic zirconia and not gold and valued the ring at $50 new.
It looks like this crook is at it again! I hope everyone who has been scammed by this guy gets some type of compensation and sees justice in the eyes of the law.
