I wanted to share with you the horrible experience I had with aptmovers.com. I moved locally in Tampa, Florida on 3/26/2005. The local number for the company is (813) 620-4482.

I was scheduled to be moved on Sat between 4PM and 6PM. After talking to the driver (Desmond) a few times until 9PM (him telling me he is constantly delayed), I called him again at abut 9:30PM and he told me his boss told him I had cancelled!

I called the general number, spoke to Debra who told me there was no knowledge of my cancel. She immediately called the local manager Dawn and told me that Dawn was on it right away and that she would call me asap. I didn't hear anything for over an hour - I repeatedly called the local number that Debra had given me to get hold of Dawn, but always got the answering service.

I finally managed to get hold of the driver and he told me he was on his way - but I'd heard this so many times before I was no longer believing it. This was after 10PM. I finally got hold of Dawn, and she said this was the first she had heard of it! Who did Debra talk to earlier then?

I was in a state - each person I talk to is giving me a different story! She called the driver, I called the driver and he said he would be over after he was done with the current job. They finally arrived about 11:30PM.

We had only 5 big items to move. Some of the movers smelled of alcohol, they were tired and just wanted to get it done. As a result, they were extremely careless - just threw everything in. Even our really expensive table. At the end of the move, my couch has a big hole in it, my cherry wood dining room table has a big scratch right on the top and my buffet edge is completely scratched up. The move took an hour and they managed to damage 3 out of 5 pieces.

I am VERY unhappy - I called and told them I expect a refund and some payout for the damaged furniture. I have not heard from them. I tried to file a complaint online - the email was rejected. I managed to get a salesperson on the line - he told me to send an email to [email protected] - this email was also rejected.

You won't have any luck going through Apartment movers for the insurance claim, you should go directly to their insurance agent. Tell the agent how you have attempted to file a claim through the movers but have been rebuffed each time. UNDERWRITERS AT LLOYDS LONDON Attn: LEBOEUF, LAMB, GREENE & MACRAE Address: 1875 CONNECTICUT AVE.,NW WASHINGTON, DC US 20009 Telephone: (202) 986 - 8000 Fax: (202) 986 - 8102 Policy # RFC000160 You will have to be persistent in finding the specific agent who handles the policy, but don't back down.
