Hi, I'm also being harassed by Arrow. You may want to contact the National Association of Consumer Advocates (naca.org) to find an attorney who specializes in consumers' rights. I got some help when I went on www.budhibbs.com. He may be able to help you if you email him about your situation. Good luck!

Don't bother to file complaint's cause they will not help you, they will just tell you to file a complaint with small claim's court, I have lost faith in the attorney general's office of consumer protection. I have lost faith in the better business bureau long ago, the BBB alway's come's back with is the company made a good faith effort to resolve the complaint when the company didn't do jack.

I have a couple of debts that were placed with Arrow Financial. Like your debts, mine are also past the statute of limitations in the state in which I reside. When a debt is past the statute of limitations, a collection agency may still attempt to collect on the debt unless you send them a letter requesting that they cease communications with you. Do not make any payments or admit to any debt in writing as this could start the statute of limitations over again and make it possible for them to sue you in court to recover the debt. As long as you don't admit any debt in writing and the debt is past the statute of limitations, they can't legally sue you to recover any debt. If they attempt to sue for time barred debt or contact you despite a cease and desist order, you can sue them for violation of the FDCPA. Under the FDCPA(Fair Debt Collection Practices Act) you can recover lawyer's fees plus $1,000 in damages. With that said, a collection account can stay on your credit report for 7 years, even if the debt is barred by the statute of limitations. Since it sounds like this is not a valid debt, what I would do is file a dispute with the credit reporting agencies directly since your attempt to have Arrow remove the negative information failed. Information for filing disputes can be found on the credit reporting agency's website. Do not send the dispute electronically, send the dispute via certified mail with return receipt so that you have proof in the form of their signature that they received the mail. Good Luck!!
