I hired ARS to replace entire HVAC system in a rental home I own. The job was to be 4 days, turned into 6 weeks of H-ll! Vents were cut wrong size, a large silver duct was run through corners of bedroom, a duct was run thru an acess that I told them not to touch. One duct in the dining room was never put in and there was no air flow in two bedrooms and one bath! I was regularly having to leave my work to go to the house to get them to fix or redo something. Finally, the HVAC mgr walked thru the house with me and said all was done. I hadn't seen a Town of S'ville inspector so, I called. On his first visit, he found 7 code violations and would not pass the job. He wanted to meet with me and the ARS mgr on another day. On that day, he and two other inspectors came. He pointed out all the code violations and many other things that were just badly done. In fact, I was told it was the worst job ever seen by one inspector. I fired ARS and told them to get their stuff out. I had not paid them anything.
An ARS regional mgr presented me with a contract releasing them from all claims for damages. They offered compensation. OK! I had already lost months of rent. I am now paying $100 of their electric bill monthly due to collapsed ducts causing the system to run constantly to cool the home. We both signed the contract.Then, ARS decided not to pay the compensation money. They said it would have been a refund, but I hadn't paid anything to start. The contract reads "compensation". At this point, my attorney is in contact with ARS attorney. This is the worst experience I've had with any company!
