Atlantic Magazine Service - Community Readers Club - RDS Service ripoff, fraudulent billing, dishonest doing bad business Delray Beach Florida
This company is a very crafty one. I had ordered magazines from a totally different company, when I recieved a phone call one morning. This gentleman told me he was merely calling to confirm my order and never even gave the name of the company. I assumed it was the company I had ordered from, which was RDS Service (which I also believe to be a dishonest company now).The phone call wasn't even 5 minutes long. The man told me he was merely confirming my address and that they already had all my information(debit card).
Needless to say when I recieved my bank statement, a charge of 49.90 was there. I recieved a letter in the mail, which stated that I was to recieve a free watch at a cost of 5.99. It also had a number of magazines, 5, that I never asked for. There was a number to call for information.??????
I tried several times to call and was told incoming calls could not be accepted at one number and got no answer at another. I went to my bank and they were very helpful, they canceled my debit and issued another and put a stop to that company being able to get funds from my account thru my debit card. The bank gave me a number to call and I was told by a rather rude lady that my account could not be canceled, but could however be lowered.
I am on a fixed income with an 11 year old child, and I told her I had never asked for or authorized this order. She informed me there was a tape recorded call and when I asked to hear it or recieve a copy she quickly said that she could not get that for me.
I told them they would hear from my attorney and my attorney called and informed them that they were being recorded amd they swiftly connected her to a voice mail where she also requested a copy of the recorded call. I have read other complaints here at rip off and only wish that I would have seen this earlier. I got alot helpful information from the other posts about this company, thank you .
