I purchased a "package" from ATT (That I was not aware the Direct TV was part of that package) the associate told me television would be "cable" he didn't tell me by way of "satellite". I am extremely unhappy with the direct systems. Complaints range from "stupid" programming that I don't even use;' The "volume" jumps up so loud during commercials you have to turn it down with the remote, then, when programming comes back on it goes down so low you have to turn it back up. 2/3 of the channels on this plan I don't even want or use. Also, long distance was supposed to be "unlimited" for a set fee. The entire package was supposed to be $99 for 6 months (plus tax). Wound up being almost $200 for the base package each month, and "per call" charges for every long-distance call. Needless to say I dropped ATT. The interesting part of the rip-off still remains and that is the Direct TV (satellite) portion.

No where in the ATT agreement did it state I was agreeing to an 18 month contract with Direct. I was specific with the ATT sales person on the phone- All of that "garbage" was in the "Very fine print" on the Direct installation paper work. I was not home when the satellite was installed, and my wife signed the installation paperwork without being told it was an 18 month contract. I am gladly telling my friends and neighbors, "DO NOT PURCHASE THE ATT PACKAGE" and if you are offered "DO NOT PURCHASE ANYTHING FROM DIRECT". So far I can gladly say several families have made the decision to go to Charter or Com cast and not do Satellite. I hate satellite, although I cannot speak for the other SP's I can state "unequivocally" Direct STINKS!!!!!! and ATT ripped me off.

ATT with Cable?

Hello I am a service rep in the northern region...Id like to shed some light on this matter. 99% of people call us and say the want cable. Us as services rep offer TV when you ask for cable we check for UVERSE availablity...The next best thing is DISH NETWORK...that comes with a satellite...You dont have Directv You have Dish Network...When we say Dish Network we can only assume you know what we are talking about. During the call you have the option for any range of items you can add or delete..You need to ask or it may not be added. As a rep Id prefer you have Unlimited LD...If it wasnt added call and add it we will take care of that. But as far as the Dish Network order...when you called ATT the first time we read a list of disclosures and when they come to install you are made aware of the agreement either 18 or two years...If you dont want the dish or want the contract you have the right to say no...I dont want it...regardless if it was you or your wife there..Sorry about the inconvience...But contracts
