My name is Dale F, I am in the US Army.

October 2011 I came up on PSC orders to move from Fort Polk LA, to Eglin AFB FL, so I cancelled my service through AT&T and paid my final bill. February 2012 I recieved a bill in the mail for an early termination fee for $135.00.  I called and spoke with someone who ensured me that the bill would be zero'd out and that it was a mistake on their part. May 2012 I got a call from a bay area credit service collection agency saying that I have been taken to collection by AT&T, so I called AT&T and spoke with a MRS. Ward (ID number GW1806), she contacted a Sandra Matthews at Bay area credit service to zero out my balance through this collection agency which MRS Matthews did.  I recieved a phone call today July 5 2012 from a Franklin Collections agency for the same original bill. I have faxed letters to AT&T, I have called over 30 times in the period of 5 months and no one at customer can seem to help me out, and when I ask to speak with corporate they cannot give out that information.  Im scheduled to Deploy to Afghanistan in August 2012 , and I want this issue taken care of ASAP.  Thank you

Dale F

According to the staff judge advocates own web page on the JRTC/Fort Polk website about this subject, it state you have to give a reason for the termination, like the phone will not work in the area. Looking at the coverage map your phone wil work in the area you are PCSing to, so they do not have to waive the fees. If you have question, your Chain of Command should have given you the number to the SJA !which is 337 531 2580, or you can find them near the s****..
