We signed a contract with BBC in June for a remodel of our kitchen for $30,000. All items we asked for were confirmed "included" through multiple discussions. Once our house was bare with no plumbing or electric, the owner, Michael, gave us a contract to "put it back together" for $78,000 additional. The first contract says things like "Install cooktop" or "install sink" - but there was nowhere to put certain items without a wall coming down - this was something he told us was to be taken care of. Our contract to him is now at $80,000. Michael has asked for the final payment, and final inspection has not yet happend. BBC has stolen our property, damaged our personal belongins, even drove into our front fence. We were forced to shut the job down and call the police to protect ourselves from any further damage. These tactics to offer a service, then once its half done, say it costs another 150% of the original price - is criminal. We were left with bare walls down to the studs. Michael said "Well, we can always put drywall back up" , and that is after we have no plumbing or electric, and paid $10,000 deposit for the demolition. We have exausted our retirement account and are left deflated and feeling very taken advantage of. I hope they go out of business and don't ruin more lives.
