We received a quote from Bahia Mar for a slip during the summer. A week ago we were contacted by Bahia Mar asking if we wanted to consider moving our boat to the marina. We called back and asked if the price quote that we received was still effective and followed up with an email to the same effect. We were told by Sasha Morel at Bahia Mar via email that the quote was good. Based on the written confirmation of the quote, we gave notice on our current slip which is at a much lower price than Bahia Mar. When we received the contract, however, the price was 70% more. This is bait and swich.

Ok, thanks. Can you just confirm that we will have a slip at the price quotes? We have given notice at
the current location and I just need confirmation. I'm sure it's crazy there now!!!
Thank you!
Ann

Hi Sasha,
I looked at the form and there is nothing to complete. Is there anything else I need to do to secure
a slip?
Thanks,
Ann

I am writing this response to Mr Michael Roess comment regarding the Bahia Mar Yachting Center. We are a full service luxury marina providing slips to yachts from all over the world and ranging in size from 20 feet to nearly 300 feet. We have successfully contracted with thousands of yachts and have many more satisfied yacht owners. Mrs Roess inquired about a slip in our marina during the summer in June. On June 16th a proposal was sent to her with a written point that this was a special rate only and that it had to be accepted and executed before July 1st.
Bahia Mar never heard back from Mrs Roess. As a good business practice we follow up with a client list to see if there would be any interest in coming to our facility. This is exactly what happened in this case and therefor nearly 4 months later Mrs Roess decides that they would like to secure a slip at our marina. She asked for an annual agreement now starting in November which is just starting the height of our season. We sent her a new agreemnt at the current rates per her request. Mrs Roess did not like the higher rates and commented that she wanted to have the summer rates that she was quoted nearly 4 months earlier. Our office replied that the earlier proposal clearly showed in writting that it had to be accepted by July 1st and therefor the current rates wouuld apply. In further discussion with Mr Roess we offered a reduced rate from our current listed rates. His comment was "No Way, I am going to find the most expensive marina and sue Bahia Mar for the difference ". This was our last office communication with Mr Roess.
We are sorry that Mr & Mrs Roess did not accept the June proposal submitted them and wish them well on their venture to secure marina space.
