Bank of America treats their clients differently depending on where they bank. For example, they have two branch locations, one in the city and one in the suburbs, they both close at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. If you make a deposit at 3:02p.m. in the city it is counted on the next business day, however, if you make a deposit at 3:02p.m. in the suburbs it is counted as the same day!

Also, they are targeting a certain class of people and taking advantage of them while getting rich on overdraft fees. They hold certain purchase transactions in a "pending" category until they are ready to strategically release them in order to sometimes cause multiple overdraft fees.

It is the largest Corporate ripoff in history.

If BOA does not discrimination, and if the computers have absolutely no way of pinpointing certain clientele, then please tell me why in April 2006, they were forced to settle with the Massachusetts Attorney General over allegations the company discriminated against Arab-American and South Asian customers. BoA closed a number of bank accounts with Arabic names based on "suspicion of terrorism or money laundering." bankofamericabadforamerica.org/racial-discrimination

Not Discrimination

I posted this on your other ROR, but this is not discrimination - this is the bank deciding that since you were not nice to them - they will simply follow through on their policy. The only way the bank could have known about the ROR is if you told them. That was pretty silly, because you basically ripped yourself off of the $280 and you will never see that money put back into your account. You have the right to express yourself anyway you wish. Just be certain that you can live with the consequence of exercising that right. In this case, you exercised the right to post your rip-off and by telling someone about it - it cost you $280.

Info on cut off time

#4Consumer Suggestion

I'm not sticking up for Bank of America, but this is what happens at cut off time. The bank cannot close all the teller windows right at 3:00 and start balancing the drawers. So, they may start at 2:50, close one window out, than close another, than another. So, it is possible that you can go in at 3:02 and there will still be a teller open whose computer is still on today's date. It's also possible that you can go in at 2:58 and get a teller who has already been balanced out and switched to tomorrow's date. If you go into the bank and you are right before or right at the cut off time, make sure your teller has not already been changed over.

MORE DISCRIMINATION-ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!

I have more proof that Bank of America discriminates on a certain income and status class of their clients. I threatened to sue them on 10/24/07. Afterwards, later on that day, they reversed the overdraft item fees on my daughter's account if she would agree to make an application for a Bank Credit Card. When management was made aware that I filed this report with Ripoff Report among others, they withdrew the overdraft reversal fees, thereby causing approximately 8 small items (ranging from $.30 to $23.49) to be rejected, thereby they will charge $35.00 times 8, for a grant total of $280.00 for a grant total of $51.52 in purchases. This is another example of the corporate thievery that I'm reporting. Many people are aware of this, however, very few are challenging them. IT IS TIME TO RECOVER, ALL!

NO DISCRIMINATION

BofA has one policy - regardless of which branch you use. If you deposit your check at 3:02PM - neither deposit will post the same day. Not only is this their policy, it is also the policy of the Federal Government; the FEDS only allow you the first $100 of your deposit available for use and then the rest is available the following day. Another funny part of this post: 'Also, they are targeting a certain class of people and taking advantage of them while getting rich on overdraft fees. They hold certain purchase transactions in a "pending" category until they are ready to strategically release them in order to sometimes cause multiple overdraft fees.' Belinda, computers don't know whether an individual is rich or poor, born here or overseas, or your background. Computers process everything the same way based on their programming. If you're overdrafting an account, it has nothing to do with the color of your skin, but by the content of your bank account. Keeping a accurate written register of all your transactions, including all of the BofA fees these people fee you to death on, will save you money in the long run - thereby saving the content of your bank account for you to use elsewhere.
