On 12/26/02, Bath Fitter of Clearwater installed a new shower stall liner over our existing shower. It looked great, but when my husband took his first shower in it, water leaked through the shower wall onto the bathroom floor and into the kitchen area on the other side of the wall.

There are water stains on the ceiling of the shower and Bath Fitter has not completed the repairs. When the installer was putting the shower arm back in the wall, he broke the piece that it attaches to, which created the water leak.

After being inspected, they agreed to fix it, but would have to cut two holes in the kitchen wall to get to the plumbing. They used a piece of rubber hose with two clamps to secure it, then we had to wait over a week for someone to come back and fill in the holes. They didn't bother using tape on the patched holes before applying the mud finish. When he left, he said someone would be contacting us to sand it down and paint it.

After the mud finish dried, you can see the cracks where it wasn't filled in properly. After two more scheduled visits that were cancelled, a third visit was set up. The technician's work order stated sand and paint, even though my husband had talked to the main office and told them that the patch job was unacceptable and needed to be re-done. So, the technician tried to "push" the sanded debris into the cracks to cover them up. My husband told the guy to leave if he wasn't going to do the job properly.

This was last Thursday, 2/20. On Friday, 2/21, I called the main office and told them something needed to be done about this, that my husband is ready to get an attorney, and that I was reporting them to the Better Business Bureau and the Pinellas County Licensing Board. Then Crystal of Bath Fitter got on the phone and told me that the owner would be calling me today after he got back from setting up for a home show.

When I hadn't received a call by 3 pm, I called back to get an automated message to press 1 or 2 for the Clearwater office or press 3 or 4 for the Tampa office. Seems they close on Friday afternoons! I pressed 1 and got an answering machine. I hung up and called back and pressed 2. Guess what?!? I got the same answering machine! It's been almost two months and they can't repair a broken pipe and fix the wall? They haven't even done anything about the water stains on the ceiling! I want this situation rectified soon.
