Baxter Chrysler Plymouth ripoff lied performed faulty service work double charged Omaha Nebraska
About three years ago I took my car (96 Dodge Intrepid) in to Baxter's them to get new tie rod ends. About a year later I took the car into another repair shop to fix the alignment. They said the tie rod end was worn and needed to be replaced. I told them to put the tires back on and I would take the car to Baxter since the tie rod end should still be under warrantee.
When I took it to Baxter they swore up and down that the rubber boot that holds the grease had been cut and they wouldn't be able to replace it under warantee because they have to mail all parts replaced under warrantee back to their corporate headquarters to be inspected. I told them that there was no way that rubber boot could have been cut because nobody had been under the hood with anything that could have cut it thus it must have been defective and split on it's own. I also told them it sounded ridiculous that they would mail all warrantee parts back to their headquarters. They service manager continued with his snotty condescending uppity attitude so I told them to just give me the car back.
I took my car back to the other repair shop and got the car fixed. That evening I talked to one of my neighbors who is a manager at another dealer. He assured me that he has NEVER heard of dealers mailing bad parts back for inspection. He said they usually go on the scrap pile.
After this happened I told my story to everyone I know and will continue to do so.
