After banking with this bank for 27years, my 33K CD was coming due. I called the number on my statement. Was told a Mike Eudy would get back to me. 2 days later I again called, this time I did speak to Mike. He said he would have to look into the rate for me and would call back.It is now 7 days after maturity. I again called. Told he was busy would call back.Told the girl to make sure that CD didn't roll-over, I was taking my money out of this bank.

When I got my check the lady said it would change my accounts but she would make the changes and everything would be fine. I have 3 other accounts + a 5K CD with them.

When my statements arrived on 2 of the accounts there was a $30.00 service charge. 1 acct. had a balance of $2,770. the other $287.00 plus an overdraw of $20,000. on it. No explination was given on the charges except that the accts. had not been changed at all.

Colette McMurray who we saw on Monday, said they should have been changed. Well it's too late $60.00 down the drain.

Both my husband & I are senior citizens and business leaders in our community and we sure wouldn't have any business if we treated our client like this.

I have removed my business acct., a rental acct. an escrow acct.,personal checking, saftey dep.box, savings acct. and 1 CD.

I will miss the tellers that I have know for years. the management not one bit.

Once again, another victim of BB&T's crap is speaking up! BB&T, all the while passing themselves off as an honest and caring institution do pretty much what they want to any of their customers feeling that said customer is powerless to stop them. Lucy, file a complaint against BB&T with the FDIC. Then file a complaint against them with your local and State Police! Talk to friends and find out if any of them have had problems with BB&T or if they may know someone else who has had problems with this pathetic excuse for a bank! But document everything. With the laws in Virginia the way they are, it is legal for a Virginia resident to record a phone or personal conversation with one or more people without notifying said person or people that they are being recorded. Every phone call my wife or I made to BB&T was RECORDED! Everyone from several of their so called "Relationship Bankers" to a District Manager was recorded when either of us talked to them! Keep fighting and filing complaints against them. Go to your local Consumer Reporter and tell them your complaint. Then have them access this Website to get a ton of information about what BB&T is doing each and every day! I have no ties to this Website but I intend to help support it. They have been invaluable in assisting me and many others I've sent to it from becoming victims and statistics! Everyone who access this Website should try and help these guys. They are doing a job that is so necessary and at the same time, they are doing a job that few have the guts to do! Lets all support them with more than good words! Lets help them so they can keep helping us!

I have to agree with all of you, I have tried the legal way in dealing with their corporate headquarters and when I went to balance my books and went to the bank to withdraw $20 of the $80 that was left after paying bills for gas money and I found my account is now a negative $465.00. I called to ask where the money went, I was told it was because of the bills and the $200 NSF fee that was charged. ????? I just deposited $740 the week before and waited three days for the money to clear the bank before paying my bills online so I knew the money would be there. When it was all done (and I checked their balance as well as mine to see if they matched...and they did) I get hit with this negative balance. Now they won't let me close my account unless I pay the negative balance and all the fees attached which will cause me to not be able to pay my rent and utility bills. I am at wits end trying to do this in a business like way. If they don't want to behave as professionals then they will be treated like the criminals that they are. And this BS that every bank does this...they're wrong. I have already started an account with USAA Federal Savings and all my transactions are free as long as I maintain atleast 100 dollars in my savings account. Which is not a problem. I can use their bill pay program and keep track of all the fees (which they waive) other companies charge just using this method of payment and earn interest on both my checking and savings account. My vehicle insurance is already lowered using their insurance company (of course it helped that my father was former military). It was only $6 this month not including renter's insurance. So ms cowpens, SC can kiss my butt about "every bank does this." Livid in NC signing out.

Dear Jo Ann, My wife and I, along with hundreds, no let's be real honest here, thousands of people know the low level approach that BB&T has used of late. My wife and I had F&M bank since we got married. Years and years of NO problems. And no NSF fees. Within 2 and a half months after BB&T took over, false and or misleading information given to us by one of BB&T's so called "Relationship Bankers"! The information was wrong and resulted in our account being hit for $90.00 in NSF's. I called the next day and reminded the relationship banker that he information is what caused the problem and her response told me all I needed to know about BB&T's reputation. She said "I nkow I was wrong but I'm not going to give you back the whole $90.00! I'll do you a favor and give you back $45.00! This became a constant thing with BB&T. We would get told various things by the so called "Relationship Bankers" and said info always turned out to be wrong. And it always cost us! The whole affair cost us thousands upon thousands of dolalrs in NSF fees. I wrote a letter of complaint to the FDIC. BB&T's response, sent by Cynthia Fisher of BB&T Bank never addressed my accusations against these crooks! The VVOB(Cynthia Fisher) basically accused my wife and I of being the cause of the problem. Liars and crooked businesses always blame the person complaining. BB&T isn't as bright as they think and things aren't as confidential in their bank as they think. I was contacted via email, two months before BB&T took over our bank. The warnings said that BB&T would find ways to steal my money. Since the problem started, I have been in constant contact with several employees who have supplied me with over 1000 pages of ducments. BB&T's only defense seems to be that they have thousands of satisifed customers and those complaining must be wrong. Child Molesters, Rapists and Murderers don't victimize everyone they come in contact with either. That doesn't mean I want to trust them. Jo Ann, get you an attorney. Don't these lowlifes win. And talk to firends and neighbors. You'll find you aren't alone. Band together and fight them all the way. I'm about to make BB&T Bank one of the most written about banks in the world. Good luck and don't let them win. Respects
