I bought my 2000 VW Jetta GLS in May of 2003. This vehicle was certified by Volkswagon. Stupid on there part. Within the first month I had the vehicle into service dept. 4 times. Things started falling apart in this car. Grease started to run down the sides of my car and Berge told me that this was "normal" because of the heat in arizona.

After that the car started burning oil like crazy. Then of course the interior started falling apart from the cup holders to the inside panelling to the black trim pealing off. It looks like I used my door panels as a stress reliever nawing on them and the center counsel. And of course that isnt under warranty. Go figure!

So three out of the 15 times since May that I have had my Jetta in the shop, I have gotten it back with something either missing or broken and of course, they didn't do it. So with much raising hell, they finally replaced/fixed what they broke, still avoiding the reasons as to why the car was there in the first place.

And as far as the oil goes, 2 service tech's tryed to brain-wash me that all VW's burn a quart of oil every 1,000 miles and it was in my owners manual. Come on now!! Would anyone buy a vehicle if it burned a quart of oil every 1,000 miles? NO!!!

Okay if your car hesitates for approximatly 10 seconds to go into reverse at any given time, is that normal? Umm... NO! When I brought this to there attention the service tech there told me that the reason my car drives the way it does is because its a VW. Do I have stupid written on my forhead or is it because I am a woman and you think you can get away with that answer? As they now know, I won't put up with any more BS from them and I am pursing this car as a lemon.

I have put more miles on that car getting it to the dealership then I have put on it myself. And the only thing they "gave" me for free because I requested that they do give me some free services, was an oil change. Gee, thanks!

There is one person I deal with at Berge's service dept. and that is Michelle. She is awesome at what she does and its not her fault for the mistakes the mechanics have made.

Morale of the story is do not buy or get your VW serviced my Berge Mazda-Volkswagon EVER!!!!

Should of bought a Chevy!!!

I also had the same problems with my vehicle's check engine light. I've filed a report with ripoffreport.com as well. I recently protested outside of their store on president's day weekend. I strongly urge you now to file a report with the arizona attorney general's office. It takes less than 5 minutes. If we can find enough people that were ripped off by Berge they will file a class action lawsuit against the company. Go there now! http://www.azag.gov/consumer/ complaintformintro.html I think we should also plan a protest weekend by all the people who were taken advantage of by Berge!
