I purchased a brand new Cannon DVD Camcorder and also purchased a pack of DVD's for use in it. I did everything correct, read instructions, charged battery overnight, and then set up camcorder on tripod for Christmas morning. I proceeded to record our Christmas morning and found that the camera shut off by itself after about 3-5 minutes of recording. We lost all of the one chance recordings of our Kids opening their gifts. The machine would power off and the only way to get it back on was to remove and replace the battery. The DVD's would not "finalize" either. It was a waste of money and time and most importantly our memories are LOST. I went the day after Christmas to return item to Best Buy. I decided to pay $300 more for a better camera, but before they would sell me that one, THEY TOLD ME THAT THEY WOULD HAVE TO CHARGE A 15% ($93.00) RESTOCKING FEE SINCE THEY COULD NOT DETERMINE IN THE 3 MINUTES OF USE THAT THERE WAS ANYTHING WRONG. After arguing my facts for 10 minutes, they did not waiver on the restocking fee. I told them I would not buy their other camera, AND I WILL NO LONGER PURCHASE ANYTHING FROM BEST BUY AGAIN. I WILL ALSO TELL MY FAMILY AND FRIEND NEVER TO BUY DUE TO THEIR TERRIBLE RETURN POLICY. WHAT EVER HAPPENED TO THE CUSTOMER IS ALWAYS RIGHT.

Best Buy is an embarrassment to customer service.

DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND AVOID THEM.
