Beyond Computers/ Alan Jacobs Jacobs stole the new laptop that I left with him. Springfield Missouri
This is not a legitimate business. Allen Jacobs is a professional criminal. Jacobs stole my new Toshiba laptop when I left it at his shop for repair! RUN away from this place!!!
In April,2012 took my nearly new Toshiba laptop to Allen Jacobs at Beyond Computers to have a cracked glass repaired.I was first told it would be available the next day.It wasn't and Jacobs wasn't answering the phone.Numerous attempts since were made to ask and later to demand that Jacobs return my laptop.He would not.Raised his voice,got belligerent,and told me the laptop I'd left at his shop for repair was,at his home "lost in his basement,so badly he wasn't able to even find it."
The shop is usually locked and Jacobs often won't answer the door even if it's during a time that he advertises he is open.Good luck even locating him after he takes your property into his possession.
Last time I was there another customer was arguing on the phone with Jacobs,who was no where in sight with his office locked at mid-afternoon on a weekday. I learned from the other customer that Jacobs had also taken his wife's laptop the previous week,under the guise of working on it and was also refusing to return it. Filed a report with SPD. Don't know why he's even still opened.
