I BEG YOU...IF YOU LOVE YOUR PETS...NEVER TAKE THEM TO BOW WAG KENNELS IN HARFORD COUNTY

I gave them the benefit of doubt from the first time becaause my dogs actually lost weight when they were there...I spoke to them to resolve the matter.

This time i left them there from a Wednesday thru monday...I Spoke with the owner who said my bill was $250...I sent an employee over one extra day later and he gets a bill for $387...that an extra $137 for one day...check out is at 11 am. My driver got there quarter after 11 am...

the owners reponse...WHEN HAVE YOU EVER CHECK OUT OF A HOTEL AFTER 11AM AND NOT BEEN CHARGED FOR A FULL DAY...uh huh, we all have right.

I send my son to get them the next day

THE DOGS WERE...never groomed, completely starved, had feces imbeded in their fur, cut on the face, and had never been let out to play because they went crazy when they got home...And to add to it...they actually have become very afraid and very nervous around people.

I weighed the dogs on the day they came back...IN 7 DAYS THEY LOST 6 LBS

BEFORE THEY WENT IN THEY HAD DOUBLED THEIR WEIGHT IN 2 MONTHS...

I've been raising German Sheperds all my life...I KNOW WHEN ABUSE HAS OCCURED...the dogs have all the earmarks of abuse from the BOW WAG KENNELS. The rude and obnoxious girl that works there told my son they were going for a massage with the extra money required to get the dogs out.

Not quite there is anyone that would touch this grossly over-weight heffer.

This is not a defence for anybody. But, especially the first couple of days, and then depending on the dog, they don't tend to eat as well when boarding, or outside of their normal conditions and routine. Shepherds can be sensitive, and that COULD explain the weight loss.

I as well had a VERY good experience at Bow Wag. Never has my dog come back thin, hurt, sick, and definitely NEVER seemed like he had been abused. I have also recommended Bow Wag to MANY of my friends and family. They also had a great experience with both of the services (boarding and grooming) that Bow wag offers.

As soon as a poster here posts a complaint there seem to be those who always pops up that has had "twenty good years" from that place of business..... So, let us remember that while it is nice to know that you have had a good expierence from this kennel, apparently the OP did not. I have had a horrible expierence with a dentist in a town close by where I live, but since he is in business I assume that enough people like him. That still does not make MY expierence with this dentist any less horrible. So while you may have had a good expierence with this kennel apparently the OP did NOT.

My dachsunds regularly go to Bowwag Kennels and have been treated well. Owners were especially responsive during my husband's terminal illness. My dogs jump out of the car to run to the office.
