I responded to a job on indeed.com or an administrative assistant with a law firm. I got a response 3weeks later saying.. "Dear Applicant, Congratulations! Our recruitment team has received your resume for the position of Administrative Assistant. We are very pleased with your listed qualifications and would like to conduct an online interview to discuss the duties within the job, along with the pay scale. Your information has been forwarded to one of our Hiring Staff. He will be conducting the interview, via Google Hangout You are required to setup a Gmail Accoun. If you already have one, Proceed to Hangout (hangouts.google.com) You are to add Mr Bradford Rodriguez ([email protected]) Interview Date : Monday 26th, September 2016 Interview Time : 8am - 4pm EST Best Regards, Gregory Alexander Hiring Manager BRADFORD, DAMIEN & SHURKTZ" Seemed legit enough so I did as instructed. I figured it was a video interview. That turned into it being simply via message and my questions were constantly ignored. Then it turned into an at home position where they would send me a check to purchase a laptop and equipment from a local vendor of theres.. "Alright, The company will be providing you with the funds you will be using in purchasing the software's you will be working with, You will be receiving a check this week and i will update you on when the check will be coming to you. The check will cover all the equipment you will be needing to start work with I believe the company can ensure your commitment and full trust right?" I responded with.. "I do not feel comfortable proceeding online as there are many, many scams and this seems more and more like one. I am definitely interested in the position but only if I am able to physically come to the office to meet and fill out paperwork." Where I got this.. "As for your paper works which you will be filling out prior to your position all that will be coming in the mail along with your working equipment and software after which you have purchase your working equipment from our local vendor is that Okay" So I did some more go ogling to verify if the was a scam or not and saw other reports. Do not be fooled people!
