Beware of this person who posts on craigslist.org! His name is Brent and he is a mechanic. He does his job at his dad's house. We have contacted him in the past to fix our cars and he worked so slow it drove us crazy! But at the time, when the car was returned, he did do a good job and so we returned.

The last time we had our car fixed, he insisted on a certain price, which was a very reasonable one, of $ 230 for fixing one of our car's clutch. We paid him and left the car with him. We came back to pick it up, he has not touched it. Well, to make a long story short, 6 weeks later, it was still not done. He never seems to have the time. He had all sorts of excuses. We were kind enough to wait that long. But finally my husband said he was going over to his dad's house, where he both lives and does his car work, and left our car there so he could fix it. His dad said he would tell Brent and took our car in.

The next day, he was nowhere in sight and it was still not fixed. Not only that, there was an extra 60 miles racked up on our car, half a tank of gas was used up and the clutch was broken! He is supposed to be a mechanic, to fix cars, not wreck them! We have tried time and again to contact him but we are positive he is now hiding. His girlfriend said to us that she doesn't live with him anymore and he moved back to his dad's house, and she seemed very sympathetic. And now nobody would answer our calls to his dad's house! He not only did that to our car, but now our $ 230 is gone too! We are now moving towards filing at small claims court for this.

Just a warning to people. My husband drives a route and he gets paid by the mile. He uses this car to do this route, and now he is without a car and he borrows my car. We are buying a new car on the weekend. Good thing I work near our house. We have always gone to conventional garages in the past, but have gone to him about 2 times because even after the wait (about a week usually) he does a pretty good job for a low price. But we have learned, definitely!
