Briefly
I took my '93 Blazer into Biddle Cheverlet, Bothell WA, for a tune-up, they informed me I had a intake manifold leak and I authorized the repair ($400). I picked up my vehicle for the repair and in less the 1 hours operating time it threw a rod. I checked my oil and discovered I had none, and I had to have a completely new engine. ($4400). Questioning the mechanics at Biddle I was told that it was possible during the procedure (intake Manifold replacement) to get contamination in the vehicle, but that their procedures were to drain the oil ahead of time to ensure this didn't occur.
They indicated that since there was the possibilty
that this could have happend unrelated to the repair, they were not liable.
I have contacted the State Attorney, Better Business Bureau
and the home company and am getting some reponses. I have now idea if I will be successful getting them to own up to their
reponsibilties, but I want to make sure people know.
