Budget movers inc I utilized their services for a simple local move from one apartment to another on 7/25/15. The move consisted of a sofa bed, queen bed and about 25 plastic bins. The crew of 3 did not take basic precautions to remove the footings or cover the sofa. They were unable to lift the sofa over one of the landings. Two small delivery men delivered the couch safely in June. Needles to say the upholstery is damaged. The frame is bent, parts of the footings are missing and paint streaks were all over the sofa. The head of the crew made excuses and kept referring to the contract which he interprets to mean the company is permitted to damage your belongings. Baltimore, Maryland Internet
I utilized budget Movers Inc for a simple move from one apartment to another. The company failed to use basic precautions to cover my new sofa bed or remove the footings. The upholstery is now torn, covered with paint, the frame is bent and parts of the footings are missing. The crew of three was too weak to lift the couch and drug it across a landing. The grew leader was rude and kept saying the contract allowed them to damage my furniture. The manager, Mr. Lee, was rude and nasty. They sent a repairman who could not make the repIrs and left $25. I never asked for monet only that they repair or replace my sofa. I have photos. Do not use this company if you value your belongings.

We have been in contact with the customer on numerous occasions regarding this complaint of some minor damages done to a sofa. A representative was sent out to the home on 07/29/15 to look at the damage, and attempted to make repairs. He did his best to repair every issue raised. The customer was aware of the tight conditions in which the sofa was being moved into, and has been pointed to our contract terms and conditions numerous times regarding the contractual liability exclusion. While the movers never intend to damage anything, certain conditions can make this unavoidable. The customer was aware of those conditions, and did sign our contract prior to and at the end of the move. We took some responsibility for the minor damages caused, and paid some monetary compensation in the form of $25, as well as some repairs completed. However, the company feels that her move conditions were a big cause of why the damages occurred in the first place which made damages unavoidable. The sofa was extremely large, awkward and heavy. The sofa had to be forced through some very tight conditions. The fabric was fixed as best as possible, paint streaks were removed, and we are currently attempting to locate a new foot as it was misplaced during the move. We have gone above and beyond to satisfy the customer in this case and we do not feel that we are contractually obligated to do anything else.
