Many things went wrong with this company during the construction of our new modular home.

First, when they wanted to know where to put the home, I requested a Site Map so that I could place and orient it on paper. They insisted that I go to the site (an hour away from Bloomington) and stake out the placement. I did so.

The ground was excavated and the footers were dug. Then it rained and the footer trenches were lost. Instead of contacting me, they made their best guess as to where they were. They were wrong, and oriented my house differently than I desired. Of course, I didn't notice it until the block foundation was in place. Too late to fix, I was told.

I didn't want to be hard core since it had already taken them 6 months PAST the day they claimed it would be completed to even start.

When they delivered the home, it was placed on the misoriented foundation backward from what I had specified. My front door now faces my next door neighbor and the side entrance is facing the back yard. But, the crane was gone...too late to fix.

By this time, I had been told that it would soon be completed and to give my landlords notice that we (me, my husband, and our three children) would be moving. I had done so, so to delay the construction could possibly render us homeless, so I bit my tongue.

Then we became homeless. Our move-out date had arrived, the lot was rented to someone else and we HAD to vacate. So I insisted that Buyer's Only house us at their expense. They were compliant--sort of.

They put us in a nice 3 bedroom home that was in the process of being painted to resell and had the electricity and water turned on, but no phone. I understood no cable, satellite, etc., but no phone??? What would happen if there were an emergency? Communicaton with them consisted of them leaving a note on the

door for us to drive to their office for this or that. Oh, but that isn't the worst of it.

One day we got a note that wasn't from Buyer's Only...it was from the owner of the house!!! Wanting rent from us!!! Buyer's Only explained to us that the man was a psychopath that they had done business with in the past, that his home had been repossessed and to not speak to him. After a week of being petrified of a lunitic, my husband spoke to the man.

He empathized with our situation and explained that the home we were in was to be his deposit on a new home they were put6ting him in, but the deal fell through and he was to repossess his house. Luckily, our home was near completion.

It was ready to move into on December 31, 2002, but we couldn't close until January 2, 2003. We filled out papers to take early possession of the house.

We signed our lives away at closing. They said an inspector would be out within 30 days to walk the house with us. We could make a list of anything that needed fixing at that time. No one ever came.

In less than a year we have noticed several outlets that are not connected to the electricity, the dryer had no ventilation and the crawl space has a hole two feet deep and four feet in diameter in the corner, which weakens the gound the foundation is sitting on.

My home sits on the top of a hill, but the yard around it floods (as well as the crawl space) every time it rains because they didn't grade the land properly.

The gravel driveway didn't have any No. 2 rock under the gravel and tore the front end off of my car because no one compacted it. The drain pipe that I requested to go under the drive at the swale in my yard was not installed.

The corrugated pipe that is supposed to drain water away from my house was buried in 1 foot of dirt. No gravel. Someone already drove over it and crimped it anyway, but if they hadn't it would've clogged very soon.

I was told the exterior work would be fixed in the spring, but Buyer's Only claimed bankruptcy and the owner opened a different real estate company.

Why does HE get to live happily ever after?
