i received an email from www.buylowauctions.com . i responde to the email by clicking on join now button. i filled up the form and also asked for my credit card info. i entered my credit card info and click submit. Then the next page was already a charge to my credit card of $159 has gone through. I did not even know what the charge for, so i called their customer service and asked why was i charged $159, they told me that charge was for the 300 bids. i was surprised about this because i did not even know. They would not give me my money back. Please look into this matter. This website, www.buylowauctions.com is really a rip off and scam

thank you

..regarding these "auctions"..which if you really understand how they work..you will conclude it is actually online gambling for prizes. For example..if you click on the FAQ on the bottom ..there is a bit of deception. It says...

"Do I have to pay what I bid even if I do not win?"

A: No, you only pay the amount of your bid if you are the winner. Only one person wins each auction so only one person pays for their bid.

However what it clearly FAILS to tell you in that answer..is everything you bid up until the point someone wins ..is gone. And depending on how much it cost per bid, will determine how much it cost you to gamble...even though you won't have to pay for the "winning" bid...see how this works????

The site calls the bids "credits"..which is another way of saying poker chips or tokens in my opinion. So although they get away with calling it an 'auction"..a legit auction such as eBay does not cost you a dime in poker chips to bid. See the difference?

Now how long can this go on until you win? Wish I knew because I would be rich if i did...but from the sites own FAQ it states...

"Since the auction can go on as long as there are bidders there is no definite time that the auction will end."

And how about this doozy...

"Why does the bid timer keep jumping above 20 seconds remaining?"

A: If the time left on the Bid Timer is within the last 20 seconds and bids are still being placed, the timer will jump back 20 seconds and start counting down again. This new function will prevent another bidder from sniping your bid at the very last second and give you a chance to counter.

Now..what is the difference at what point a bid is sniped?? All they are doing is adding 20 seconds to the clock each time someone bids...hence giving 20 more seconds of time for THEM to make more on the item, and for others to bid AGAINST you..hence decreasing your chances of winning.

The best way to help others avoid this fate...is to spread the word...DO NOT FILL IN CREDIT CARD INFORMATION to ANY WEBSITE unless you intend on it costing something. And do not pay to join anything, until you investigate what it is you may be paying to join.

Make sense?

Now the strange thing is about this report..unless this website has changed something since you joined..or you ended up buying more bids then come with membership...it is pretty clear what they charge to join on the sign up page where you gave them your credit card info. What did you think the credit card info was going to be for? Anyhow is this the page you saw because it should only have been $24.95..and you can cancel before 30 days to avoid being charged another $49.82 for 100 more bids. Do you remember what you did that caused you to buy 300 bids for $159.00 or did they change something? I am not going to join to find out since I do not gamble or give my CC info out to sites like this.

Here is what is says on that page..

You must read and accept all of the Terms and Conditions
