BWP Transport ripoff Dishonest to drivers, Illegal logbook proceedures in my opinion Saint Clair Michigan
I recently had the displeasure of working for these people. After doing the math over the time I spent in the truck I figured that I could make more money working at Wal-mart.
In my opinion they work the hell out of drivers before they have to pay benefits and then they screw them over enough that they quit on their own instead of firing them.
I was personally told by the president of the company to log unloading time as time spent in the sleeper berth. When unloading a pneumatic tank you have to watch it all the time. You cannot be asleep. If a hose clogs it creates a possible dangerous situation.
Just before I quit they docked me a day's pay for not delivering a load on time. The reason it was late is that I waited 2.45 hours to cross the ambassador bridge. Sure was my fault. The claim that if the load is late they do not get paid, so the driver does not get paid. In talking to other former employees I have been told that they usually get paid for these loads, but screw the driver out of them anyway.
You be the judge, but if it were up to me I would drive a manure spreader for an amish farmer before I would work for these people.
Also be aware the most of the office staff and dispatchers are all related. Another trick they pull in my opinion is finding nonexistent damage on equipment and deducting it from driver escrow.
