I certainly did not do enough research on Cali Bamboo before spending over 5000.00 on their flooring.  I ordered the product thru Jay Emel who could not have been nice enough when I was placing the order.  He answered my phone calls very promptly.  That was not so after the purchase and we started experiencing problems.  Cali Bamboo does not stand behind their product.  Do your research before you even think of buying from them.

1st problem:  I had installer sat to install the flooring a week after delivery.  Flooring has to sit in house to acclimate to house temp.  The flooring did not show up.  I called Jay and emailed - no return call.  I called company and was given someone in shipping.  She said the flooring had shipped but she could not find where it was nor was she sure of the shipper??  She gave me names of two shippers that they use and promised to get back to me as soon as she found which shipper and where the flooring was.  I called each shipper and found my flooring.  The shipper was trying to reach me but had been given the incorrect number so I sat up delivery time with them.  Three days later Cali shipping called me and told me the shipper and had their number.  The flooring had been delivered by then.

2nd problem:  After one week of flooring being down, we had scratches.  We had a professional floor installer put our flooring in and he was impressed with the ease of installment but he was surprised to see how easily the floor scratched.  He felt it was the Cali distressed finish as the flooring is very hard but the finish is thin.  Needless to say, I emailed Jay and called Jay many times with only one call back when I was not home.  Then I just received company letters saying that they had not heard from me and assumed the problem solved.  No - the floor scratches so easily that I had to invest in another vacuum.  My old vacuum turns on the beater brush first and that left long scratches across the floor.  My new one starts up without the beater brush - another $300.00 spent.

Be warned - Cali flooring paints a pretty picture but the picture is a forgery.
