Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
I saw this job opening on jobbank.ca. It was listed as airport security guard, and the pay was listed as C$15/hr, 40hrs a week. The employer was listed as Enforce security Service Ltd. When I scheduled an appointment and arrived at the interview I discovered that the company's name was Canadian Security Academy. The interviewer was Mark, who supposedly owns the place. He asked me typical interview questions and told me I was a great candidate for the position, and I would be hired. He also informed me that this company was funded by the Canadian government. Shouldn't telling people that your company is a government ran organization be against the law?

He told me training would take place a week from the interview at the University of Toronto Saint George campus. Also he said that the academy will train us, certify us and give us a certificate and send us to work with either G4S or Garda, (both security companies). Also, the pay wasn't C$15/hr, it was minimum wage, and "later" I could earn up to $15hr. He later told me that training would be C$250, which I was a bit puzzled, but I knew that receiving a security license there was a fee, just didn't know how much. He said that I could pay now or pay later on this week. I didn't want to bus all the way back to downtown to pay a fee, that I could have just paid while I was there, so foolishly paid for the "training, and job placement", thinking I would receive a official security license from the government.

I talked to a couple of my friends and they informed me that the security license was only C$80. So I called back in asking why the fee was C$250, oppose to going straight to G4S or Garda they only charge C$80. The lady started speaking quite rude to me and said that "I have to respect the contract, and there's nothing I can do to you help you", and she hung up.

I then typed the company's name on Google and saw a bunch of fraud filed reports that people wrote, that went through the same situation as me. I called the police, called job bank, called Ontario's employment assistance, they all told me there's nothing they can do for me , it's me fault, and said goodbye without any sympathy. I told job bank to take this advertisement off their site, because that's the main reason why I trusted the company so much, because it was advertised on a government site.

Hopefully no one else goes through what I went through, and hopefully those who did, we get our money back. I won't stop here, I'll see to it that, Canadian Security Academy is on the news as a fraudulent organization!
