In addition to filing this complaint I also sent a certified letter to Capital Ones correspondance address, of which I got back in the mail as undeliverable. I confirmed via their website that I did place that correct address on the letter. You can tell how much they care about hearing from the customer The real kicker to this is that, as I stated in my previous post I refinanced this vehicle with another company. At the time the loan closed, I signed the check and all of the required correspondance for Capital One to release the title to the new lien holder and guess what I go in the mail today....................the TITLE. The stupidity with Capital One just amazes me.

I can tell by your response that you work or have worked for Capital One, because you attitute that I must have done something wrong in this situatin quite frankly stinks. The only thing that I did wrong was to ever finance a vehicle with Capital One in the Frist place. If you will go back and ready my orignal post. The fact that they posted another persons payment to the account had NOTHING to do with the fact that for the past 8 months I've been getting payment coupons from them that were WRONG. The miss applied payment didn't happen until April. And were is your justification for them reversing my April payment along with the other persons payment. There is no justification for it. Even if the other customer did write the wrong account number, that in no way effects my payment! It's amazing that you know so much about what happened that day and are so willing to tell me that what did and didn't happen with the representative. But I know what happened, and I'm gong to make it my mission to let everyone I possibly can, what a terrible company Capital One. Now you go ahead and defend them just like your company training has trought you, but if you in my shoes and had received the piss poor service and treatment that I have for simply making my payment on time, you wouldn't be in this forum defending them.

I worked there for 2 years so I know a lot about it, since I made it my passion to know everything about my job I could possibly know. -First off, the rep didn't intentionally hang up on you. I can say that with 99% certainty because I have accidentally hung up on people. The hold button and hang-up button are right next to each other. - I have no idea about why they had such a hard time resetting your internet access (I never handled that aspect of the business). -They called you so you were aware of the mistake since you were so concerned about why the coupon had the wrong amount. So that you would know what the mistake was and that it had been taken care of. Quite possibly, they called you at work because it was listed as your home number or because they called your home first and you didn't answer. Also, the mistake was more than likely not their fault, it's unbelievable how many people send their payments in and the numbers for their account are not legible so it gets misapplied. Or you could have had someone like I talked to one day who had paid for 4 months on the wrong account. He paid on online billpay and the account he put in he his an 8 instead of 9...so for 4 months it went to someone elses account. -They cannot give you an accurate payoff amount without the account having the correct balance. They cannot credit the money immediately. It has to go to another department who has to process the request and it can take about 48 hours due to the computer processes and etc. The payoff is calculated by the rep pressing a button to "calculate the payoff" and it includes the balance currently on the loan plus the interest for the next 10-days (that's why it is called a 10-day payoff). Problem is it is not a simple calculation and that is why the computer has to do it. Also keep in mind, it is a simple interest loan so the interest calculates daily, so they would also have to put into mind of when the payment you made will be retroactively be applied and that will change the interest on the loan as well. There's no way they could just pull a number out of the air and give you a payoff. -Yelling never gets you anywhere. Patience is a virtue. People are FAR less likely to help you when you are rude and yelling at them. This goes for all things in life.
