First, let me thank the respondent and ex-employee of Cellular Sales of Knoxville for the advice on finding a solution. Second, let me say, that the stupidity of the whole thing astounds me even still. One part of me wants to launch a massive "campaign for truth" against this company and the other just makes me want to laugh over the effort they have put into covering up the facts, trying to devalue my post through personal attacks, and the work it took for me to simply get out of a contract with a cell phone company. On the professional victim bit. Cellular Sales of Knoxville preys on professional victims. As long as they are victims, they don't demand respect, and allow themselves to be treated poorly. Good for business, probably not so good for sleeping at night... for the business owners or the customers. In one sense, if standing up to money crazed establishments that don't treat people well (with treating people with respect in not an unknown business practice, not just a moral issue) means I am the crazy one, I'll count myself among, but certainly not equal to, other professional victims like Gandhi and Martin Luther King Jr. Their tactics seemed odd, but they got things done. Their fight was worth fighting, I really don't see that this one is. Truth is nothing that scares me and lies are transparent. What scares me are people like the ones at Cellular Sales of Knoxville who are so comfortable with taking truth and twisting it into something that serves them in the short term. Some truth, some lies, mixed together, means people are easily swayed. Not so much afraid of my reputation being slandered, I am not so attached to that. I try to make time for people that are worth making time for, and these guys are not. For the record, I ported the number to another service provider and my Verizon account has no record of a credit... yet. I was assured by Verizon that it would be there in a day or two. Let's hope that Verizon at least, are people of their word.

Is your area code an 865 area code? I'm going to UT, but I moved here from Hawaii and have an 808 area code. The weekend before Labor Day, my phone, as well as many others, crashed. My service is through Cingular, and when I went into the store, there was a large group of people with the same problem (none of us having 865 area codes). As a testament to Cingular, they had the problem fixed within a week (not "soon", but in a fair amount of time). Maybe it affected multiple providers? And I highly doubt Jason's claims. There's no way that a company would have access to mental health records due to HIPAA. But since he claims that they have seen these records, maybe there's a lawsuit brewing assuming they have?

I have read the way you were treated by Cellular Sales. The only way you will get a positive response is to call the 800 hundred number or dial *611. Once you are in contact with corporate Verizon, let them hear the story. Ask to submit a complaint. After you have completed the complaint, ask for the indirect manager in you area. When you call and talk to them, they will take action. Cellular Sales is a indirect of Verizon. They are allowed to use the signs because they sell phones. An indirect can help you with the sale only. They have no management as portrayed. Each employee is a independent contractor. I hope this will help. DO NOT let it go. Each complaint will be added up and used against them when they try to put in new stores.

I am not sure what to say. I logged in to give a semi-decent report on how Verizon management and a partner in Cellular Sales had some common sense and decided to credit the account for the cancellation of service. They seemed apologetic enough and also a bit surprised when all I wanted, to "be happy", in their words, was to go without cost. The funny manager in Knoxville had offered to credit the account if I did two things. The first was to sign a statement that I would not defame the character of the company. The second, and this the best part, was to ammend the post on this very website. Kudos for RipOffReport.com. I don't think the thing would have been resolved as quickly had this venue not been available. The ironic thing about the rebuttal to the article, (I chose not to sign a waiver or ammend the article in their favor) is that it does exactly what I told the managing partner at Cellular Sales the funny manager at the Bearden branch seemed to have a habit of doing. When he did not like the conversation, he made it personal. He threatened to find out where I worked. I recommended whitepages and the reverse phone search. When they got my e-mail adress, he quized me on what seekyourchurch.com was about. It is mine, but I told him to type it in his browser and check it out. I was certain he would like it. I never considered myself a professional victim, though at one point in my life I was slappy silly crazy. Oh, for the love of everything sacred, I hope they made all that nonsense up about "mental health records" based on the fact that everyone has some, or at least at one point probably should have, had some. It would be spooky weird if they had that power with all the hippa laws. I suppose, for me, if they think because I would not write something kind about them, they are justified in making goofy comments about some dude nobody knows, and believing somehow that the general public will respect that type of nonsense in business, then let them ramble at my, or the anonymous name on this website, expense. I think the fact that the "agent" in question has been there nine years and they are comfortable with the fact he lied to them about what happenned speaks volumes more to me about the integrity of the company than I would ever learn from the accusatory and idiotic ramblings for the local managers. And of course, the comments about this article were posted by an independent auditor. It would not surprise me if someone there said, "We have to make something up that is negative about this post, but we don't want to be responsible". Which was the whole point in the first place. Cellular Sales of Knoxville, at least on the local level, takes no responsibility for the actions of their agents. Hence, the problem with lying and unethical business practices, it always comes full circle.

As an independent auditor for escalated complaints related to Verizon agents in the southeast, we found Mr Bonillas comments to be quite unsettling. On further investigation we uncovered an extremely distraut individual with a history of legal complaints including allegations of abuse that were colorful at best and completely fabricated for the most part. As Verizons premier agent in the southeast, Cellular Sales has consistently scored the highest costomer satisfaction ratings INDUSTRY WIDE. While no individual is exempt from criticsm, the agent in question has a 9 year exemplary record with the company. From the event transcripts we feel it is entirely fair to say thet the alleged abuse was most probably the product of a professional victim. A quick peek at both mental health records and criminal history confirmed these suspicions.....
