CHM Capital Group/Lisa Peters Continuous harassing phone calls to me and my family Chicago Illinois
On 6/29/2015 @ 1:28pm I received a voice mail from a Lisa Peters at my place of employement, stating that she had an urgent matter to discuss with me and left a case number to contact her back immediately. At 1:29pm, I received the same voicemail on my cell phone from Lisa Peters. Approximately 5 minutes later, I recieved a text from my parents asking to call them immediately. I have not lived with my parents for over 20+ years. Lisa Peters contacted them with the same information and case number.
I called Lisa back at 3:20pm that day. She verified my identity by stating my social security number to me. She then proceeded to say that there is a legal matter currently against me for a loan of 300.00 that I allegedly took out last March. She said that they are filing claim for check fraud and falsifying records. When I asked who the company was with she stated "I'm sorry I'm not legally obligated to disclose that information."
She then stated I had 2 options:
- I could file a claim saying that this lawsuit was false
- I could pay a reduced payment of 600.00
I couldn't help but laugh and said to her:
- you can't tell me who this is for
- you say the amount due is for 300.00
- you want me to pay you 600.00
I proceeded to advise her that I will choose option 1 and that any further communication was to be made via US Postal service and to cease and desist all calls to myself, my place of employment, and to family members. She proceeded to say "That's fine and hung up."
This morning, 6/30/15, at 10:17am, Lisa Peters again called my place of employment and asked to speak to my manager or immediate supervisor. I advised her that what she was doing was harassment and she was asked to stop calling and before I could continue she hung up.
At 10:29am she called my cell phone. I asked her what part of do not call does she not understand. She said she was meerly validating that it was me and to discuss my case. I told her she knew it was me and I told her to stop calling, she proceeded to claim I never told her to stop calling and that she had everything written down. I instructed her to write down, to not call me, my employer or family and that I will be filing a report for harassment against her and her company. She then got nasty and said that's fine, we will see you in court and you will be paying us 2692.54 in damages and hung up.
I would like any assistance and guidance on next steps I can take with this lady and company.
