Consumerinfo.com AKA CIC Credit Monitoring rip-off! Charging my bank a monthly fee, unauthorized. Orange California
Three month ago I was charged a fee of $ 9.95 by CIC Credit Monitoring a company I never heard of or did any business with let alone signed up with. The first month I could let it go, not a large amount to worry about. I made a mental note to check the following month and law and behold here was the charge.
I called the company CIC Credit Monitoring at 800-220-2626 and guess what? They could not find me in there system, hence how could they charge me? The next step was calling my bank which in turn suggested that I cancell my bank card and so I was issued a new card.
Now it is October 18th 2004 and I just checked my bank account and to my supreise, the $ 9.95 fee was once again deducted. Calling my bank once again they suggested to close this account and open a new account, which I will take to hart and do, since receiving a new card has not worked.
The fact remains, how did CIC Credit Monitoring get hold of my account? I truly wonder if they have a spyware that can attach it self through a pop up add and pull info from ones computer.
