Circuit City Store #3316 Refund rifoff Portland Oregon
On 23 September 2008 I made a purchase (transaction # 331604692013) with my debit card at Circuit City store 3316 at 1772 N. Jantzen Beach Ctr., Portland, OR 97212-7845 (Tel: 503-283-8009) for $103.98.
Within minutes after running my card the sales rep realized that the product and service I attempted to purchase was not available. A credit to my debit card (Ticket #331604692007) was issued at 10:21 AM in the amount of $103.98. To date this has not shown as being credited to my account. I called the store and the customer service line at Circuit City HQ in Richmond, VA and the response is the same: NOTHING! I am told that a credit had been issued on 23 September 2008. Circuit City refuses to look into this any further, and says that I need to resolve this with Bank of America, who in turn says I need to resolve this with the merchant. I don't have proof that any credit was actually issued other than the receipt copy for same issued at the store. My bank has no record of recieving a credit and Circuit City does not care.
I have filed a complaint with the BBB and the Oregon Consumer Protection agency. If that doesn't work, I guess I'll start picketing the store. Someone has my $103.98 and I simply intend to get it back. In the mean time, don't pay for anything at Circuit City with a debit card. If there is a problem after purchase you are simply screwed.
