I used to live in the city, and believe me, unless you pay for monthly parking, it doesn't get any cheaper (except a few places after 7 PM). With my "resident discount", I could park in the garage across from my building for $359.00 a month or $375.00 in the Holiday Inn parking lot on the corner. That is just the way it is there. Personally, coming from the South Bay, I would take Cal-Train and Muni, if possible. It beats having to fight the traffic and get parking.
